Reaves and Noah Chadwick to the Habs for a 7th.

Ok that's too much, but if he's dealt it's with a sweetener, but he's likely just getting sent to the AHL

Like I said in the OP, after being waived his cap hit is 200k.
If someone claims him, his cap hit is not 200k.
Why would anyone claim him, to put him back on waivers, for a 200k cap hit.

Probably need to o close a small sweetener, since still another year to go.

Follow along. The Leafs will put him on waivers for a 200k cap hit to them. But if another team sees value in him, they can have him to save us the 200k.

I think St. Louis might have interest. Was drafted by them. Would be a nice story to end his career there

They could use a enforcer from time to time instead of having Nate Walker drop the gloves every other day. Dont see them making the playoffs this year anyways

If you're not gonna win, you can't be boring. You gotta give them something to show up and buy tickets for. San Jose?

will need a sweetener if you want to move him, as still has another year remaining at age 38 currently.

No cap in the playoffs. Send him to the A to clear cap and call him back up for the playoffs.,

he’s not getting taken on waivers, apparently you don’t even understand your own thread 😂.
Like I said and others, will need a sweetener, with another year remaining.

There has already been two fans in this thread expressing interest. Like I said, it's not big deal to waive him the 200k is not going to break the Leafs in the slightest. It was just an idea that if he provided a need for a bottom feeder then we might as well explore it.

Reaves doesn’t even fight anymore, he’s got what one or two on the year? The entertainment/team protection side of his game is nonexistent at this point. Hard to blame him, he’s 96 and already has his retirement contract locked in.

I think someone would take him. He is, by all accounts, a great guy to have around a team and the likes of Chicago, Buffalo, Nashville etc all need some positivity around their players right now. He'll be a 13th forward and help morale.

...would it help the Morale of the kids that are busting their asses to make the Roster when the spot is taken by an overpaid Cheerleader, though??...both sides to that coin...

You need some older heads alongside the youngsters. Buffalo are showing you need those vets to help development. Plus as I mentioned, he'd be the 13th forward half the time, so the younger guys still get game time.

...I agree that Vets matter, but in this case it's someone who doesn't deserve the Roster spot over one of their kids in the minors that needs playing time to grow...teams like Buffalo need a Vet roster player to SHOW them, not just tell them, how to play and stick in the NHL; Reaves is no longer that player, imo...

I would take him on the Penguins just so we could have someone like him because our team is buttery soft and at least we would have someone for guys like Rempe to beat on for the allure of entertainment value which really is the only thing being sold in Pittsburgh and has been for 6 years now.
