Reason for Isles Opener on Sunday @ 6pm

Looks like JayZ & Co. slapped that concert together. 20 days lead time, even for a charity event? Doesn't seem like that was the original planned concert...

As for the Isles, well, they were the primary tenant with all those family-friendly dates/times, but not enough people seemed to care, so, now they need to work around other tenants/events. Such is life when you want to be relevant...

Off Topic:

Does anybody know if tonight's preseason game is on TV or will it be broadcast over the radio? I'd like to see some of these young guys in action.

I dont know for sure, but if I had to take a guess, Id say neither.

Play at MSG Thursday & Wash Saturday Friday would make 3 nights in a row...I believe that violates the CBA And the C is not for conspiracy:)

The CBA says if you have to play 3 games in 3 days for whatever reason then you are not required to ice the best line-up you possibly can to win the 3rd game. You can rest anyone you want for any reason..

That wouldn't be an issue with our coach.

Yes, but not relevant.

How is it not relevant?

If the issue is lack of Saturday home games altogether...then I am with you.

But to say the reason the home opener is on a Sunday....is a concert on a Saturday....is flawed logic.

The reason the home opener is on Sunday night is a direct result of not being the primary tenant.

Schedule your games so that the team has a proper home opener. When you are primary tenant, you have a myriad of scenarios where you can open on Saturday. When you are the step child of Manson, you get what the arena gives you.

Bones is lost without a dedicated Brooklyn thread.

What is a "proper home opener"?

Right here, using the google, I was able to quickly find a full list of NHL home openers.

Assuming a "proper home opener" is a Saturday, because that's what the Islanders always had in Nassau, it would appear that only 6 out of 30 teams are getting "proper home openers" this year. That's a really bad job by the NHL, 24 fanbases must be livid. Not only that, but 18 of the 30 home openers take place between a Monday and a Thursday, so over half the league's fanbases are going to not even have a weekend home opener of any kind. Should the league offices be burned yet?
