I don’t think he’s anything special, based on what I’ve seen. I think he wants to be a two-way player but doesn’t have enough skill to be one. The goal he scored kind of proves that – all he does is shoot muffins from the blue line and dump pucks deep.

All that said, he’ll be a fine WHL player. Just nothing special and not more than a third-pairing guy on any decent team.

He went from being listed 6'0" to 6'2" over the Summer, and does look noticeably taller on the ice. Players who have such growth spurt in their draft year are always interesting.

I like Port the most of the Czech defensemen who went CHL route this season (Port, Zizka, Husinecky) and wouldn't rule a mid/late pick possibility out. Have yet to see him play in the WHL though.
