Pavel Buchnevich
"Pavel Buchnevich The Fake"
The only defenseman on the US select team that looked to have any draft potential. He's a 2027 draft eligible, so young compared to most of the other players. You'd hope he can grow a little. He's only 5'10 and doesn't have elite offensive capabilities, so his game is a little bit of a tough sell, but he skates very well, and is solid in all zones. Played the most minutes on the team, and was the PP1 QB. Zeev Buium was similar size at this point without elite tools, and he slowly and surely got better and became a first round pick as a late birthday. Not saying that's going to happen for Harper, but you never know. Most likely not going to be an early round pick, but I think he looks draftable at this point.
He's a Tri-City Storm draft pick. Given his age, that he's not a real top prospect for the USHL, and he's a SSM player, I suspect he plays one more year at SSM and then jumps to the USHL after that, but I could be wrong. EP doesn't list where he'll play for next season. Another Florida player (from Tampa). Can only imagine there will be a lot more over the upcoming years with what the Bolts and Cats have done to make the sport big in the state.
