RD David Jiricek (2022, 6th, CBJ; traded to MIN)

Spurgeon, and, I'm assuming, Faber are out, leaving Bogosian as their only RHD. Doesn't mean that Jiricek will play, but he's a lot closer to it than he was just a little while ago. Kind of surprised that it wasn't Spacek that got the callup, but they probably want to jiricek to practice with the team a bit, and get their fitness trainers and skating coaches to take a look at him.

Brodin/Mid/ Chisholm /Bogo/Merrill/ Dermott/.... things are getting thin. Middleton just came back last game after a month out. One more injury and someone from Iowa will be playing, whether it be Lambos, Jiricek, spacek, or one of the AHL vets.

Update to the above. apparently Brodin is also out, so he, Spurgeon, and Faber are out for the next game at least(probably two). Jiricek will certainly get TOI. Pretty ugly D lineup now. Jiricek might get PP2 time, but that is more of a curse than anything, especially with Kaprizov out, as Rossi will be on PP1. Not a lot of offensive talent on PP2

Curious how it goes.. it's unfortunate that MInny has so many key injuries given their great season. Only bright side is Jiricek gets some ice time. I was all for the 'lock him away in AHL and work on things' for rest of season. I was fine if Spacek got this callup instead.

However, I will cheer like hell and be checking the TOI closely.lol

My guess, given the injuries, is 12 minutes.

My dream - he gets 15 or so, a point somewhere and shows what he's got! He sticks and makes it hard to send him down.

My reality - he gets exposed, shit on HF and sent to Iowa when guys get healthy

The hope was that Brodin or Middleton would be his D partner, giving him a solid defensive guy to guide him. As is, Middleton will be out there on the top pairing matched up against Mackinnon and/or Makar - that's not ideal for Middleton, nvm Jiricek. Not expecting a great outcome for the Wild, tonight.

Played 16 minutes last night, and somehow ended up with a +/- of 0 in a 6-1 loss. Lead the D in giveaways, and hits. Looked awkward, but OK. Got lost in the O zone once or twice, and i was holding my breath when forwards tried to get around him on the outside, but...ok , for a first time, under pretty bad circumstances. He really needs to spend a lot of time with the Ness's(Wild skating coaches) during the off season, as well as the gym.

Maybe people on the outside will finally admit maybe that's the case if now the Wild fanbase starts to agree that's the biggest glaring issue If you can't move issues just generally start compounding and get worse, especially with someone who is naturally aggressive
