I've been interviewing for a position for a few days.

FWIW, I didn't apply, I was approached by their recruiter .

1st interview with the hiring manager was scheduled for 1 hour, but it lasted 1h45 minutes.
Interview seemed to go well, manager was writing down a lot of notes.
I had to politely tell him I had to run back to work because I had a team meeting to attend.
He totally understood and told me he would call me to finish the interview.

In the meantime they sent me a long psychometric test. Later they told me I did very well on the test

The next day the Manager called me to pick up where we left off, and he spent a good amount time selling me the job, he even went as far as telling what I would do and laid out a career plan.
He also asked me if the other companies I was interviewing with would be offering me more interesting careers.

I have another in person interview scheduled, less formal and with my potential future colleague.

So how does it look so far?

Hf isn't a place for reassurances but it obviously sounds like it went well if they are giving a 2nd interview... An hour and 45 minutes seems excessive though.

Good advice in general: unless you really hate your current job, don't ever quit until you find a 2nd one, being unemployed is not good.

Thanks

Yeah I really hate my current job, not to mention it makes me commute 2 hours a day (2 subway line + a bus).

Current employer is not open to working remotely, even though all the people I work with are located in in other provinces.
That doesn"t make any sense.

I can't do this any longer.

The company I mentioned in my OP is a 10 minute walk from home...

You've got a pretty darn good shot. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions about being a front runner (you really never know) but I would view it as a job you can realistically land. Otherwise they wouldn't be putting in that sort of effort.

Yea I agree with this. I've had several friends who thought they were 95% sure they were getting a job and then it never goes through. Even had a friend get a job and then the day before they started they changed their mind. Was awkward because he already quit the first job but they took him back. So make sure to be very formal and fair when quitting your job. You never know...

Usually, interviewing with a future coworker after you've already interviewed with a recruiter and manager is a good sign.

Don't quit your current job until you have a final offer. They usually give an offer, then requirements (references, drug test, etc), then the final offer

Good luck!

is the job for Burger king or McDonald's?

While you may not have applied for the job--it is the job of a recruiter to get as many candidates as possible.

For my current job that I am leaving it took me 5 interviews and several tests to get the gig

I hope you don't get the job

The Lounge could use your (serious) posting.

Little update :

So the interview with the future colleague went well, as at the end she asked me if I had time to meet with the Branch Manager

That meeting went well as well, said he liked my profile and thet I will certainly hear from them in a day or two
