Went with Siemens. As long as there is a chance he ends up a top-4 defenceman, he is the Avs second most needed and valuable prospect.

You should add Wood. He seems like a real dark horse due to injury.

Bleackley for same reasons I voted before

Add Sgarbossa as I think he'll be a 3rd line candidate next season

I voted for Hishon because after thinking about it for a bit he was really impressive in the playoffs considering he didn't have the healthiest of seasons in Lake Erie. He didn't even look too far out of place. He has top 6/9 potential which is what Bleackley has but Hishon is closer then him.

Bleackley. Love how much of a guarantee he is. And is his potential really isn't much lower than Hishon.

Add Will

I honestly believe Bleackley has a better chance of being on this team 2 years from now than Hishon (or really anyone else not named Bigras). With Bleackley sure it may all be rainbows, upside and potential right now but Hishon is a massive dose of optimism because prior to his 3 games in the NHL many were not sure if the organization would even offer him another contract. A LOT still has to go right for it to work out for Hishon.

I'll abstain from saying who I'll add next in the event of needing to break a tie but I'm down with the suggestions of Geertsen, Magyar and Smith.

From your lips to the Hockey god's ears.

Hishon will be our secret weapon.

It was a bright spot that Hishon was fairly healthy for a season, but it still seems a jump to expect too much of him at this point. He still missed a significant amount of time this past year in the AHL. When he did play his numbers were solid (for the team), but not spectacular. IMO people are putting way too much weight into Hishon's playoff performance...

Love Bleackley, but this has "Shiny new toy" over it.

It's Hishon.
Add Colin Smith.

It has nothing to do with shiny new toy for me. It's all about him being basically a lock to be a 3rd line player, with potential for the top 6. I really like having sure fire guys, especially when we already have a handful of stars. Love that he is thought of as a good 2 way player as well. The more versatile the player the better. And this kid can play in any situation.

Hishon has great offensive skills, but he is much more of an offensive guy. And he still is no guarantee to even make it at this level. His play isn't that suited for a bottom role and he might just not ever be good enough for the top 6. I'll take the 2way sure bet. Add in the injury concern and its an easy choice for me.

Bleakz

On a side note, I saw Bigras in Owen Sound today with his girlfriend!

Bleakley. He's the player Pracey was trying to get when we selected Heard.

If Hishon didn't have all those injuries it would be a lot harder to choose, he just can't stay healthy. Hishon has more upside, but i'd rather not take that gamble when it's not needed.

Reminder poll closes late tonight. I'd love to crack 100 votes again so please vote if you haven't done so!

I think the next poll will be interesting. Not sure I can guess at this point how Siemens-Hishon-Elliott is going to shake out.
