Pretty sure Vincour doesn't count as a prospect anymore, considering he's played 88 NHL games. And add Beaupre I guess, I'm starting to feel bad for Nzap.

Elliott is in a very similar situation- same age, same draft class, has to pass through waivers, questionable if ready for NHL, has to really earn a spot in camp

So, I'm unclear on something regarding when we abandon Lake Erie and get our own AHL team...

We signed players to the Monsters that aren't "property" of the Avs, right?

I'm guessing that when we switch AHL teams, we lose those players.

Who are they?

Or am I way out in left field yet again?

Most AHL deals are only 1 year deals. So they could simply sign with the Avs new affiliate or with the Avs next summer. Now any deals that extend beyond this season would stay with the Monsters, but I don't think there are many (if any) of those deals on Lake Erie currently. If there are... there is most certainly a NHL out clause that the Avs could sign them to a 2 way deal.

What I want to know is who controls the coaching staff and which entity do they stay with.

Unfortunately not a lot of AHL deals are made public. We'll find out when we get the camp roster pretty much.
