"At this point in his career" is a bit dramatic. I'd like another season/start before branding Richards a decline player at age 33.

They all have different strengths even on a seemingly coordinated skill. Step makes some really solid tape to tape quick, strong and locked and loaded passes that makes it very difficult for goaltenders to stop if the shooter executes. Brassy has a great sense of what's going on and will find subtle plays and openings with his vision and more importantly, he's the most aware of playing making and passing opportunities. Zucc is similar to Brassard in that fashion. Zucc's strength from what I've seen is the ability to make a play really quick and make it count. It may not always be a mesmerizing pass but he's ready to dish the puck as soon as he gets it because he's oriented toward play making (on this team anyway).

Strictly speaking on the skill of literally making a pass, Step has the best pass.
The vision and hockey sense involved in passing, Brass gets my vote over Zucc.

It's close but I think Zucc has the most crisp, accurate and quick passes on the team.
 
Stepan = the touch
Brassard = vision
Zuccarello = anticipation

All excel at their given strength.
IMO, who is a better passer is dependant on the play needed to beat the opponents system on a given night.

For me, order is irrelevant.
 
Zooks (vision and anticipation)
Steps (straight forward solid passer)
Brass (solid passer)
 
I can't really rank them.

They're all different types of playmakers.

Brassard is hard-working and has some deft hands. He has excellent vision.

Stepan is the smartest and, in my opinion, has the BEST vision of the group. He always makes the right play, and controls the pace of the game.

Zucc is simply a good all-around passer. Very good stickhandler, very good vision, and very good hands. He has become more evasive along the wall and a little bit faster.
 
Zooks has great vision, he's a superior passer of the puck, but I think he has problems settling the puck down when he receives it, and it sometimes causes him to miss the opportunity to make pass he wants to make. I wonder if he should try a yet shorter stick than he's playing with this season.

I think he's got the best vision of the three, and is able to make the passes the others don't see, but sometimes he can't do what he wants. That's not a big knock, he's been very involved, and if the other team makes the mistake of giving him space, he can make the play that makes them suffer for it.
 
Too different. Brass has the balls to try fancy passes. When they work, he looks great, when they dont, you barely notice.

I think Stepan reads the play incredibly well. His hockey IQ is what I say seperates him from. From a pure skill standpoint, Stepan doesnt really wow you with anything.

Zucc is able to do so much with such little space. I forgot who it was the other night, but he squeezed a pass in there nobody else on the Rangers would have even dreamed of. It was beautiful.

was it the one he made as he was skating behind the net? right before he skated behind the net he made this cheeky centering pass through 2 defenders right onto i think boyle's stick and he had a good scoring chance.

This is what I see. Zucc is a master of time and space ha.... chaos hobbit. Brass is ballsy and Stepan is the mastermind
 
Brassard has great hands that he uses to open up passing lanes. Overall, Rangers are a very poor passing team.
 
If I had to rate them, I'd say Zucc, Brass, Steps.

All different types of playmakers. I love Brassard's trickiness and ability to make a (successful) pass that you wouldn't expect, his hands are pretty amazing, but Zucc's vision is just something else this year and his ability to find a play in almost any situation makes him a dangerous player.
 
Not sure why Brassard isn't the clear choice here, and it's not even close. The guy's made several passes since we acquired him that had me saying, "haven't seen a pass like that in a long time from a Ranger". More specifically the pass to Girardi against the Islanders. That pass required everything that encompasses the art of hockey, beautiful pass...

I thought I remembered a pass like that from Richards to Gabby last year against Toronto. However, my memory is fuzzy on the Brassard pass, much less the Richards one.

Think I recall that pass, if I remember correctly, I think it was more of a stretch pass, but indeed nice.

That Brassard pass to Danny had a higher degree of difficultly IMO. Tight quarters, angle, defenseman, timing. . He lifted that puck, perfect weight and dropped it on a dime to Danny in the only spot it could be.. thing of beauty
