Chytil was our best forward but really needs to work on his shot (as does the team in general)
The Smith-Andersson-Lemieux line did a good job on the forecheck for most of the night
Strome continues to be noticeable in a positive way
Outside of the terrible play on the goal, Gilmour played a better game than Skjei, who once again looked lost

So, Detroit 3-0 vs Rangers this year. So, how in the hell are they behind us? Don't answer. It was a sarcastic, rhetorical question.

Buch showing a lot of emotion there, he really gives a crap, and that earns a lot of respect points in my book. Smith has been very good as a 4th line forward and deserved to score that goal. Poor Machinehead won’t sleep tonight since Pionk picked up an assist on it though, lol.

What's the point of John Giannone's game summaries?

Kind of makes you wonder, had he been a Ranger all these years......no wonder he plays well against us. Its a personal thing. He has to be thinking.....Hank, you have the job I always wanted to have.

Whether they win or lose, the Rangers can never do anything the easy way.

I'm not going to lie, tonight would've really pissed me off. If for no other reason than guys like Smith and Shattenkirk really aren't part of anything productive this organization might do in the coming decade, but would still somehow find a way to turn something seemingly inconsequential into an action that the Rangers feel several months, and several years down the line.

One of the things I hoped wouldn't happen is that this team would somehow be buoyed by under-performing veterans who end up scoring. Not that you can make the kids be the ones who score in defeat, but you'd at least hope they have something to build on. The flip side is that I really couldn't give two craps about Shattenkirk and Smith having something to build on.

Seeing Buch sad made me sad but that was a big loss
