I was too young to really watch Richter outside of watching 94 and World Cup of Hockey highlights. He seemed great but I can’t see him being as great has Hank was during our deep runsYeah, but he never won a Cup, and for some that will define his legacy. I think it's horseshit, personally. Richter was my favorite player growing up and Lundqvist my favorite for his career. Richter was at times s really great goalie and the Cup run was unforgettable, but I think Lundqvist was clearly the superior player.
I love Igor but it seems like the majority of the goals he lets in are real stinkers. But Hank did that a lot too. That being said. Nuevo Zibs needs to be shot into the sun also Igor is legit and will get his shutouts sooner then later. So, the guy has been great all game and lets in a shot that should have never even been taken. Maybe he should have had it, but the goal was 99% on Zibanejad.
If our roster were half as good as theirs, that would be a good start.I'd put the Rangers in gray if they played half as well as the Canes.
Different eras. Back then rebounds were the defenses problem. You were allowed to murder forwards below the dots. Richter was able to come out far to cut down the angle, but that led to his signature diving save when the pass went cross ice. Again, that was a defenseman's responsibility. It's not fair to compare styles across those eras. Definitely not to the extent of applying current standards to the 90s.Richter was great at stopping the puck; not good at everything else a goalie is asked to do. Poor rebound control, terrible with the puck on his stick. Kinda like Hank but worse at everything. He had a better glove than Hank but was out of position alot hence made a good number of acrobatic saves and couldn't play as deep as Hank because he didn't track the puck as well.
how dare you assume its genderIs the fanduel guy AI?
Followed by buch.Panarin just fanned on that shot. Why can’t he ever just be perfect?
By that logic, in a game 7 you should rather have some third line scrub who has won a cup over Panarin.
Richter played with the best rangers team in the last 3o years. Goalies don't win championships, teams do. Objectively Lundqvist was a better big game goalie.
