Igor has not had one complete game in the NHL. Not one. Still hasn't had a shutout because he can't help himself he needs to give up at least one softy a game. I'm starting to doubt him. The guy just is another f***ing mental midget.

Igor really needs to stop with these lapses in concentration. Why is it so f***ing hard to do your f***ing job for 60 minutes?

I'm calling it, Igor won't f***ing have a shutout this season. He just can't f***ing help himself and needs to give up garbage goals. Absolute garbage. He has a quota to fill. Mentally he's a weak goalie honestly.

His ZERO career shutouts say otherwise. The guy is unable to have a full 60 minute effort.

Well Lundqvist would go a month like this where he gives up at least one stinker but Igor has gone an entire career like that.

This is a pet peeve of mine other than maybe a player missing an empty net, nothing pisses me more than these free f***ing goals given up. Should be 3-0 going into the 3rd, instead we'll probably blow it.

So, hadn't been on the board and thought I'd read the last 3 pages of what should be a much more positive GDT.

What even is this? Igor has been good as he usually is. Show me the goalie who doesn't concede shots like that.

Yea, he's not perfect by any means, a bit soft, prone to the occasional penalty, but come on, he's been unreal here. People love to rag on him.

Yeah, but he never won a Cup, and for some that will define his legacy. I think it's horseshit, personally. Richter was my favorite player growing up and Lundqvist my favorite for his career. Richter was at times s really great goalie and the Cup run was unforgettable, but I think Lundqvist was clearly the superior player.

He also single handedly won gold for USA in the world championship.

He's also the guy that somehow stoned Bure.

My childhood is etched in that.

I'll take Richter and not look back. Whether the numbers back it up or not.

He’s looking good IMO, gets too much flak than he deserves. Maybe not a 2C but if we can get Mika back to his form, and Chytil continues developing, you could add someone in FA, and have 4 quality Centers. Plus drafting a C in the 2021 draft.

Prime Lundqvist was a very good big-game goalie. Put him behind a good offense and we might've had a cup or two over the last decade. He just never got great goal support.

Richter played with the best rangers team in the last 3o years. Goalies don't win championships, teams do. Objectively Lundqvist was a better big game goalie.

Sounds about right. The only team that did a good job with jersey modifications this season was Ottawa. The forward-facing centurion on an otherwise blank jersey looked weird. That wasn’t so when the jersey had a stripe across — but I guess they had to get rid of that to satisfy the Reebok template:

I hear some of this because I grew up with him as my goalie. But its silly to say "whether the numbers back it up or not" because they are the only factual or objective measure we have.

I'm not expecting him to never allow soft goals but sometimes not allowing soft goals would be nice.

Well he’s stopped 659 out of 711 shots he’s faced in the NHL. If we say he’s given up 15 weak goals in his career, that means he doesn’t allow soft goals 98% of the time. Good enough for me.
