Carolina has a very deep blue line. Dougie Hamilton (coming off a great season), Vatanen, Pesce, TVR, Skjei, Slavin, Fleury, Edmunson, Gardiner. It'll be interesting to see who they dress.

They have scoring in Svech, Trochek, Tervanen and Aho. They have veteran leadership in Justin Williams, Niederreiter, Staal and Dzingel.

And unfortunately for us, the fans won't be there because whenever we go down to Carolina, there are always more Rangers fans than Hurricanes fans in attendance.

It's definitely going to be a good matchup and a really tough test for our very young team. We need to stay out of the penalty box in order to have a chance, but I do think we advance.
Pesce is unlikely to play.

I guess the temperature I was attempting to take has us wining the series so far in mostly 4 or 5 games, 36-7 as we speak, that we advance. I dunno boys it's not like I don't like our chances but Carolina has a heck of team. Are we really ready at this point in the "rebuild" to win a playoff series already?

If we pull this off and beat the Canes even if we lose in the next round, that bodes incredibly well for us next year. Besides the experience or our young players got the last month before the shutdown which every game was pretty much playoff type pressure, to get this kind of experience in this play in series, is going to immeasurable.

Dunno about y'all but I already thought we are about one year ahead in this rebuild of ours of where I thought we'd be at this point, well this series vs Carolina will accelerate the build that much more for our kids which is huge!

A win tho in a series like this vs a very good team like Carolina could mean that we could seriously be ready to compete for a Cup beginning next year, which would be like I said about a year ahead of schedule. Cannot wait to see how this turns out....

A lot of those guys are new to the team or coming off injury. I assume when they acquired those guys at the trade deadline they were banking on time to gel. They don’t get that and it’s a serious issue. Throw an all star team together with zero real games to rev-up, even the Sabres could win. The lack of time together is a wildcard. Could benefit the Rangers heaps.

We also have a bunch of ex-Canes that would want to stick it to them including Gauthier, DiGiu..., McKegg, and Fox.

I went Canes in 5, I'll say they win two high scoring games, and then get a rabbit pull from one of their goalies in a low scoring game.

They will pepper Igor when our bottom 6 is on the ice.

I actually said our Rangers in 5 and it's mostly because the Canes won't be able to do their "Storm Surge" stuff in front of their home crowd which I gotta be honest, I get a kick out of and it will hinder their team...lol

That will be the key to our winning the series and likely playing, I predict the Caps the next round, for no other reason than whenever we make the playoffs we always play them SOB's...

I'm all aboard the Shesty train but I will not abide by an Hank slander, facetious or otherwise :nono:
Scruples and respect be damned around here.
Must be an awesome feeling when you are regarded as the King of an awesome franchise, but it was inevitable that a difficult, deep deep plunge into the abyss would eventually follow. Personally, I dislike slandering anyone......let alone the King.

Actually that's something I hadn't thought about. With the East teams playing in the West and vice versa are the East teams going to start at 4 PM local time and the West at 10 PM?

it’s the NHL. Rangers/Canes will drop the biscuit at 10:30 eastern

My biggest fear is a Svech lacrosse goal that becomes the cataclysmic event that sends Hank into retirement.

Groan. DiGuiseppe is a fringe player. McKegg is a 4th liner. Gauthier we hope develops and considering that he did not play there, what does Fox need to stick it to them for?

If your reliance is on the first 3 names, boy are you in trouble.

Come on TB — never underestimate a motivated Phil Di Giuseppe.

It will be close. Every game goes into 3 overtimes.
And then Rod Brind'amour jumps on the ice and scores in OT.

Oh, Keane's aura brings back the Bryan Marchment (and you thought that I forgot about how badly I wanted him on the Rangers) who proceeds to give out 5 concussions.
