Rangers PP is better 12th in the league at 19.6% while the PK is 6th with 85.9

Rangers faceoffs% is 21st in the league with 48.8% not good at all :help: this is really shocking...

does anyone think that maybe the Rangers should get someone who can win draws.. id love a guy like Patrick Sharp or Ryan Kesler type player.

Brian Boyle leads team 321 faceoffs taken and 56.1%
Dom Moore 217 faceoffs taken and 50.7%
sadly these 2 dont provide much scoring.. so winning a faceoff gets the team puck possession but that is it really

JT Miller when on team 14 faceoff taken 50.0% still dont understand why the coaches want him as a winger when his best games are as center

Brad Richards 306 faceoffs taken 49.4.%
Derrick Brassard 320 faceoffs taken 47.2%
Derek Stepan 497 faceoffs taken 43.9% not good at all

any chance moving Derek Stepan to wing?? he has not been good at the faceoffs this year...

thought this was interesting

Maybe let Boyle take faceoffs, I dunno...

he just hurts the Rangers in the offensive zone, he always does something to kill the chances :help: with Stepan being so bad on faceoffs, im shocked it wasnt talked about moving him to wing..

Tipped your hand early in this one.

Faceoff loss thread masked as an anti-Boyle thread.

no this was not meant to be that.

what is the point of winning faceoffs if your line cant do anything with the puck in the offensive zone.. its just a waste of offensive zone time.. this would not be an issue if the top skilled forwards were winning the faceoffs... Boyle is the best faceoff player on the team but what should Rangers do just let Boyle win the faceoffs, and then skate to the bench once in the offensive zone?? :shakehead

The main issue with our faceoffs is that Stepan is a disaster on them. He needs to put in a lot of work during the offseason to improve there. Even him just going to a league average 50% player would drastically increase the teams FO success as a whole and PP since he takes a lot of our PP draws.

It prevents the other team from doing just that...

I think faceoffs are pretty overrated, anyways. I think it's slightly ahead of TOFFNESS in terms of the impact it has on winning/losing.

losing faceoffs has been one of the reasons, the Rangers get kept in their zone and most of the time its by the other teams 3rd and 4th lines... this must be improved.. 21st in the league in facroffs is not good at all... i see time and time again a faceoff gets lost in the defensive zone and then the puck is in the back of the net on that same shift.... faceoffs are so important in todays NHL...

The Rangers are 48.8% in faceoffs. That means they're 1.2% off of the average. Which equates to about 0.71 faceoffs per game. So, yeah, I would disagree that this is a big issue.
