I think JD is going to get murdered by the league. This is the first time a team has sabotaged the league like this. Lawsuits in the future will cite those words. "dereliction of duty", "unfit to continue in his current role".

I hope this is coming directly from Dolan or with the full approval and understanding from Dolan.

I guarantee you that Dolan said he has a blank check for any fine JD will pick up. And good call on the lawsuits "the NHL's NY Rangers warned that Department of Player Safety Director George Parros was unfit to continue in his current role and failed to act resulting in a concussion to XYZ player..."

Love that statement from the Rangers. I wonder if the intention is to get other teams to support this.

Im telling you, I’ve only been watching this team for 25 years - less than a lot here. This season has packed in more drama, absurdity, frustration and excitement than the past 5 combined. All in a shortened schedule.

Just ridiculous.

NHL Network....

Still no comment on this. (They are live with game updates)

Bettman tossed the gag order, which makes them look even worse.

I wonder if we lose a draft pick if Gary goes full postal. That's a legit possibility at this point the more i think about the lawsuit liabilty.

The Rangers clutched their pearls and scolded the Principal while the bully roams the halls, counting the minutes until he gets to give Urkel another giant wedgy.

No worries. Blossom, Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and Koothrappali got his back.

Pretty strong statement here. No punches pulled, and also no irrrational outbursts. Calculated and impactful statement. Love it. Now dress all the goons tomorrow.

Inb4 "we had only addressed the play with regards to buchnevich, the play on panarin was still being reviewed. The league has decides to suspend tom wilson indefinitely"

it’s not the cheap shot, it’s the lack of response by the league. dangerous, reckless plays shouldn’t go unpunished. the fact the guy is a repeat offender makes it so much worse. we have nothing left to play for anyway so who cares?
Exactly hence why you call up geersten and goon it up

Then Gary would be derelict of his duties and he works for the owners, I'm sure the owners will appreciate that Gestapo move by him.

I think Parros is going to be removed from the post. Every decision he makes now will be open to being attacked by lawyers in lawsuits. The Rangers called out Parros, not the league itself for the most part. If they put Alanis Morissette into that role, they will be able to deflect in court and say, that was in reference to Parros, incidents after May 05, 2021 are not related to that particular comment.

Then the league will have to send a message to the teams that you can't force our hands into firing directors and league officials. If this was the Coyotes, a $10,000,000 fine will send a message but the Rangers are prepared to pay whatever fines especially after receiving what? $20,000,000 from Seattle a few days ago?

This will cost us our 1st round pick. I'm convinced.

I give them credit for flying in the face of a league that clearly has its head in the sand. Good on them, whatever the fine may be. Somebody has to take a stand against this kind of nonsense and it might as well be the richest franchise in North American hockey. Screw Bettman and the do-nothing Dept. of "Player Safety". What a joke.

That tweet is...something. I did a quick click around this place and literally every fan base is talking about it, with all but one wildly in favor of what the Rangers did. Several teams fans were saying that they wanted their team to fall in line behind the Rangers by releasing solidarity statements in a push to create actual change on this.
