"Brokers said that in recent weeks StubHub has slashed buyers' fees to as little as 2%, from 10% of the base ticket price, tweaking the fees daily for different events. It also has lowered the fee it charges sellers, which typically range between 6% and 15%."

hey I thought something was up like this, I've been seeing some weird fees lately that don't add up

This is exactly what I was saying before the season. All-in pricing forces sellers to lower fees so buyers see the prices they expect on the listing and it ends up killing your net take home...

StubHub Sings the Blues After Shifting Fees
Attempt at Price Transparency Backfires, Hurting Sales

Honesty may be the best policy, but it is taking a toll on sales for the nation's largest ticket reseller, StubHub. Three months after StubHub, a division of eBay eliminated what it said had been the single biggest annoyance to most of its customers—hidden fees—its sales have taken a hit.

The decision to move to an "all-in" pricing scheme in January followed years of consumer research showing that fans hate nothing more than to see their final ticket price jacked up with additional fees and service charges when they reach checkout. But now that StubHub's listed prices include the fees, they appear more expensive, and sales have fallen as fans gravitate to sites that list lower base prices and hide fees, the company said.

I do more buying on stubhub than selling, so I love the all-in pricing. But, if it is causing their revenues to drop, I wouldn't be shocked if they go back to adding the fees just before you buy.

Definately noticed this for Rangers.
Other tickets I have listed (Rutgers) still appear to be "all in" pricing.
Maybe they are running some side to side comparison?

It looks like the Ottawa game next Saturday may break the single game pricing record for the season.
Only 600 tickets left on SH and cheapest pair is $175 each + fees.

I've had a similar experience. It just much easier to deal with Stubhub as they have a very large customer base and do not require the hassle to track down and perform the transaction with a private buyer. Not to say that I haven't done so, I've sold on the board a few times, but as far as ease of use and convenience, Stubhub is king. I haven't used Ticketexchange since their moved to Ticketsnow as it is a very clumsy website and a PITA to use in my opinion. I also have 200s row 4 seats, and it has been a very up and down season. I couldn't give away tickets in the first half of the season, but since the Olympics the prices have skyrocketed. If I keep my seats, I'm hoping that the more normal schedule next season will help keep demand more regular. I miss paying $56 for each seat. Much easier to sell back then.

The real issue with selling through the these boards is the fact you cannot ask for more than face value. What ultimately happens is STH only list games there is low demand for and buyers on the board have very little interest.

I don't know if the Board policy of limiting to face is based on legal issues or trying to protect buyers?
With all of the info out there today, I think buyers have plenty of information to make educated decision. As a matter of fact, if a seller listed tickets for a price not deemed fair, he'd get called out immediately by others.

I want to sell to real Ranger fans on this board, but not enough to sacrifice $50 per sale. I would love nothing more than to list my sell my $53 tickets here for $100 each for a game that is commanding $125 each on SH. Win / Win for both sides IMO.

It's a sitewide policy, not a NYR section policy. Mods in Minnesota & Phoenix frankly have no clue about how the secondary ticket market works in NYC

Wait until the playoffs. I have noticed this trend coming since the Olympic Break. The Rangers played a lousy home schedule early on and went into the break with 2 games against the Oilers and the Avalanche. Probably the weakest draw after the break is the Hurricanes.
With the Knicks not making the playoffs the Rangers should be a Hot Ticket. I would expect double face if the play the Flyers in the first round.

I was wondering what was going on with that. I had tickets listed for the game in Jersey at $120 each and the buyer saw $134.50 which made sense price wise. I check again the next day and the buyer now sees $124.50 despite the fact I kept the price at $120. All the other listings dropped by the same price it appeared too. I'm not complaining, just found it weird at the time.

I don't think so, what happens is everyone lists their tickets at the same time when the team releases them and it floods the market. STHs generally sell half or more of their playoff tickets and buyers have plenty to choose from. The price spikes we are seeing now are because there's no tickets available since people sold a long time ago after being burned on last minute sales in the first half of the season. I expect prices to be reasonable for the first 2 games of round 1 and then games 3 & 4 (if necessary) to be much higher

I can attest to this. Was losing a bunch at the start of the year, so I figured I'd offer games a bit more in advance. Am kicking myself for not waiting based on what last night's and next Saturday's games are going for.

I think it will depend on 1) who they play. Philly will fetch a MUCH higher premium than the Caps or Jackets and 2) if they home ice or not. If they do, there will not be much time to sell games 1 and 2, so prices will start to drop earlier than usual.

Wow, wonder what I should list my Row 2's for?

I think it will be $150 minimum to walk in the building and that will escalate as the series moves on.
Since I have always had the lowest price point (first Blues, now upper 200's), that has always been what I have looked for.
I know it's much more difficult to move the more expensive price points for as much profit, but Row 2 is a awesome seat so I am sure you will do fine

Also keep in mind that the Rangers could be playing Home Game one or two on Easter Sunday.
If they get home ice (big if) , you can put Thurs Apr 17th in pen as MSG is booked the 16th and 18th (Knicks and EJ). If that happens, I hope they play game 2 Sat night, but knowing NBC it will be an Easter Sunday special.

Same here… sold in advance after I got burned early in the season… at one point, it got so bad that I took a decent loss for a Devils game so I priced competitively and moved all of my seats over 2 months ago. I broke even for the year but man am I kicking myself now seeing some of these prices.

Just got three bar stool seats in section 316 on the bridge for the playoffs... anyone sit up there yet, is the view good?

This season was an aberration in that the Rangers had 10 home games in 21 days during December and 7 home games during a stretch of 13 days in January. The Rangers have been a very strong ticket for the past 10 years and I believe next year will be even stronger after they win the Cup this spring!

Decent view. High up, but you won't miss anything. It's like sitting on the roof.

they offered these to me today too. I called my rep and asked what the deal was with buying my regular seats. Said next week they will allow me to purchase them in full. I don't understand why I have to wait an extra week to purchase my seats if I could have purchased bridge ones today.

When you say "Buying regular seats" do you mean a full season?... or do you have a mini plan?

Had a question about center vs corner seats I'm hoping someone can clarify. According to the interactive seating chart, it seems that upper and lower center are only sections 210-212 and 223-225. However, for gallery seats, "center" extends to include 209, 213, 222, and 226. Oddly, this doesn't seem to be the case for the Knicks, as the sections have the same designation (center vs corner) for upper, lower, and gallery seat.

The Knicks still have 13-14 prices up, so is this new for this year? Or is this just a weird anomaly?

Always been like that, the ice is longer than the court and hockey is more watchable in the corners & ends than basketball

I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually repriced 209,213,222 & 226 as "center". Not that there's much of a price difference between center and ends

I believe there are some mistakes on the interactive chart. For example, 214 is listed as center gallery, while the section opposite (221) is not.
