Olympic break

16 games, 3 road games. 2 games at Yankee Stadium where the Rangers are the road team. 11 games at home where the Rangers are 8-10-2. The Rangers went 3-4-2 on the last long home stand. 3-5-2 on their last 10 games at home including an early December loss to Winnipeg. The team plays better on the road than at home. 32 points on the table.

I was just writing this in the post-game. If the Rangers can win 10 of 16... say going 10-4-2, they'll be sitting in pretty good shape in the standings, given what has been going on around them. They've won 5 of their last 7. They don't travel for an entire month here, except for a trip to Ottawa, and they play every other day. Hopefully they can string together something decent.

Lets face it. We r a .500 team. I can't see us going 10-4-2 unless Hank finds himself. He's really the guy we need to turn this around.

Have to start winning at home, no excuses, no reason not to carry the play like last night, instead of chasing the puck the whole game

Exactly, Hank still carries this team as far as it can go, still the best player on the team, although McD is real close...

Absolutely... although, if you look at it one way, getting to 10-4-2 instead of 7-7-2 is just improving the outcome of 3 games. Doesn't seem that daunting when looked at that way.

Hank needs to step it up, although Talbot will be playing a bunch too.

Only 5 of these games are against teams solidly ahead of us in the standings. 7 are against teams in our boat. 4 are against teams really struggling (3 of them are Islanders games).

In December. 10 home games. The Rangers didn't face a tough schedule.

Winnipeg. Lost

New Jersey. OT loss

Caps. Lost

Nashville. Lost

Columbus. Lost

Calgary. Shootout win

Pittsburgh. Shootout loss

Islanders. Lost

Minnesota. Won

Toronto. Shootout win

1 regulation win. 2 SO wins. 3-5-2

Those Islander games at the Garden are dangerous. Especially with that team going nowhere. Those games are their playoff games.

Is Tampa playing Bishop in that game? TB plays in Columbus the night before. Bishop 4-0 with a 0.89 GAA and .970 Save % in his career against the Rangers. 3 goals in 4 games. Lindback played in the game last Sunday.
