Rykov. Don't think he'll come back but if he did, he's the most likely to have an NHL career in some capacity, IMO.

Add Ciccolini.

Skinner plays an underrated two-way game --- not unlike Ryan Graves at the same point in development.

Garand is one of the more technically sound 18 year old goalies I've seen in a while.

It was a toss-up for me, but I went with Skinner. But it's very close.

Re: Rykov, I was not impressed by him very much last season.

Even before the injuries, I didn't see a guy who looked like he was on the cusp of the NHL. Considering his age and experience, it was a let-down.

Not unlike Hajek, we're now two and half years out from his acquisition. At this point, I'm seeing a guy who is heading toward 7th defenseman territory, if not a permanent residency in Europe.

Rykov had 11 points in his first 27 NA games, not sure how he's at all in he Hajek category...

His inability to play consistent defense, pick up coverage, win battles for the puck, move the puck when he has it, etc.

I mean I could go on if you'd like. But the reports before his injury were not glowing.

His production was one of those misleading things. He really struggled in Hartford and was benched for eight or so games down the stretch. He had a really tough go of it.

stats aren't everything. Otherwise you'd ask why Ryan Lindgren with only 2 points in 9 games got the callup over Rykov. Joey Keane was a beast but he had the misfortune of having ADA, Trouba, and Fox ahead of him on the depth chart.

No entirely sure who this post is about, but yes they are very good indicator, especially 23, Russian, is performing well in the AHL.

My point is that numbers alone aren't an indication that Rykov is playing well. I don't know his play but others who have watched him have pointed out his inconsistent play, being benched for 8 games... I only pointed out that he didn't get the call up so that should speak volumes. "Performing well in the AHL" is a very very debatable statement.

OK... think 23, rookie, KHL... 11 ps...
he had 11 pts in Hartford. He has 5 points in the KHL this season. Again, points don't tell that clear of a picture. Did he just get secondary assists? I don't know but if you want to advocate him, will gladly listen to scouting reports if you've got them.
