I’m choosing Garand but could easily have chosen berard, Edstrom, Fortescue or chmelar.

Add chmelar.

Berard. Add BMB.

I went with Berard, but I really like Garand.

I feel so bad for Jones, though. He was really good in HFD, and I still think he has an NHL career on a PP2 somewhere. This was supposed to be a year for him to break 20 some odd games and chip in some points while working on limiting the high danger chances against. He hasn't really done either of those last two things, so now I'm not so sure he'll do that first thing either.

I still have him in the 6-8 range. It just sucks that he's just barely old enough for waivers but has more value/potential than an Emberson, so he's sitting when he could be getting PP time on a bottom feeder team. Some shit team with size on the left side, but lacks offense would be really happy with him for a 3rd/4th rounder. "Poor man's Lundkvist" sort of deal. We'd be happy to recoup his draft pick at least, and he'd be happy getting ice time.

I know this isn't the Zac Jones thread, but him falling out of the top 5 (and possibly top 10) is noteworthy. The last thing I'll say is I'm fine with a platoon of Jones and Robertson next year, and I'd maybe have Robbie round out my top 10 before any of you would even vote to add him. =P

Went with Edstrom. Berard or Garand were close but for me Edstrom is closer to the NHL than Berard right now and I think the high upside for either is 3rd line. Ultimately as well I think the Rangers are going to decide on Sykora or Berard and move the other.

Thought Zac Jones had a very good camp. Honestly though I don't see a place for him with the Rangers. He moves the puck very nicely but he just doesn't defend well enough. I don't think there's a whole lot of trade value with him either. That said he is not a playoff injury replacement that I'd want to see at all. I don't think we need to bring in anyone all that special but I'd like to have a better option if one of our D's does get hurt.

Add BMB.

I feel for Jones. The situation feels like we’ve seen before: two / three teams will be willing to give him a chance break into the NHL before he’s off to Europe or become a full time AHLer. One of these chances he could figure out what it takes to be good enough for a permanent top-6 D spot. Personally I think he’s good enough to make it 50/50 bet that he makes it.

understood and agree, but won't complain that NYR D been fairly healthy, even w Fox missing a month
Jones probably finds some ice time before season's end,
and/or maybe gets traded,
but then NYR gotta borrow from Pack's diminished D
(Harpur, Berzolla hurt, Emberson siphoned away by Grier) for 7th D
