Is there a link to previous polls anywhere? Would like to look back at our past prospect lists.

Went with Ragnarsson. I think he, Sjalin, and Pajuniemi are pretty similar. I think Ragnarsson and Sjalin have established themselves at the pro level more clearly than Pajuniemi has at this point and that Ragnarsson and Pajuniemi have a little more skill / upside than Sjalin does, so it's Ragnarsson, then Pajuniemi, then Sjalin for me.

Add Gropp (I think a few posters above might have gotten the S's and P's on their keyboards mixed up). Just some food for thought since Meskanen just got added and Tim Gettinger will win round this round:

Tim Gettinger:
Age: 21
Last 16 AHL games of 2019: 0.25 ppg

Ville Meskanen:
Age: 23
Last 16 AHL games of 2019: 0.3 ppg

Ryan Gropp
Age: 22
Last 16 AHL games of 2019: 0.8 ppg

The last 16 games are a small sample, but I don't think it should be controversial to say that, compared to Gettinger and Meskanen, Gropp is similarly aged, has the most skill, and ended the season playing at the highest level.

Admittedly, there's a decent chance Gropp's last few games were just a flash in the pan, but I thought he looked the best I've seen him look in the last few Hartford games I watched. If the end of the season represented Gropp taking his game to a new level and he's going to approach a point-per-game in the AHL at 22/23 with his skating, size, and shooting ability going forward, then he would arguably belong in our top 10. At this point, some chance of that outcome puts Gropp ahead of the other prospects left on the board for me.

That's reasonable logic. I favor Gettinger because he's not necessarily going to have to put up significant points to make it as an NHL regular. If he can play his game while putting up 25 points, he'll be a valuable third or fourth line contributor and penalty killer. Gropp, on the other hand, needs to score in order to have an NHL future, because otherwise he's not going to bring much to the table. He's kind of like Matt Puempel was for the organization a couple years ago, IMO.

Gettinger. Likely to be a 3rd liner at best, but his size and his mobility for that size make him a nice checking option. Carving out a long 4th line NHL career would be a great get in the 6th round. I think that is what we could be seeing when he plays. I also think with a good camp, he could break with the team this year, whether that is the 12th/13th forward. We are heavy on wingers, but depending on the offseason moves, someone is likely gone and will need to be replaced cheaply. Gettinger checks off a lot of those boxes.

Add Wall. Very god bounce back season. Goalies are voodoo, but he's had 2 out of 3 seasons in the NCAA that have been strong. Hoping for another one this season and turning pro at the end of the collegiate season.

Gettinger, though my hopes for him are pretty modest. If he can become a fourth liner who pops in the odd goal, and helps wear down other teams, that will be a very useful player.

Fourth line forwards and third pairing defensemen are hard to get too excited about, but they're crucial if you want to build a complete team.

Lettieri. Elmer.

Lettieri could make the team depending if the Rangers move a couple forwards. He's turned into a very productive AHL player. If he ever sticks a few in the net he might actually turn into something.

My deal with Gettinger and Meskanen is they both faded hard in the second half last year. I think Gettinger who is still very young has got a decent chance to be a 3rd-4th line forward. He's got great size and is a decent skater. He'll need to take the body a lot and use his size and he'll need to be a pk'er where his length again will come in handy. The Rangers have been working on those things with him.

Elmer is a guy I think might sneak up on people this year. Mid-season rankings he could be a mover.

Add Skinner.

Gross doesn't turn 20 until the end of January- does that mean he can go to yet another WJC?
