Mancini.

I've been pumping Laba's tires since early his freshman year and really love him as a prospect. That said, I think Mancini's upside is being undersold. He has excellent size, strength, skating, and can carry the puck. He stepped into Hartford and looked like a multi-year vet. I think there's more there with him than we give him credit for.

At the end of the day, though, I'm totally fine with either.

I would not be shocked if Mancini gets some games if injuries happen this season. Does he play LD, RD or both?

Pretty much how I feel. I love what Laba's done at CC and maybe the thing that lifts Mancini just over him right now is how he came in and finished the season and playoffs in Hartford playing pretty much like a seasoned veteran straight out of college hockey. What he seems to have that others lack is a foundation to his game. He defends really well....that is his toolbox and he's building the rest of his game from that. I don't expect he'll be a big point producer but a comparable might be someone like Adam Pelech---size, strength and solid defense, dependability. Or maybe a larger Girardi with better skating. Girardi was a really good player for a long time.
