Someone let me know which AHL players I left off the list that are eligible to be added, thanks.

Still think Garand's ceiling should get him the nod here, but I understand the Robertson choice at 7.

I'd have Garand > Robertson > BMB > Sykora > Cuylle of the names up there.

I'm torn between adding Edstrom or Trivigno, but I'll say add Trivigno

So we should have a pretty decent top 10 list once Robertson, Cuylle, Sykora, and Garand are up there. Very impressive considering we graduated so many good young players to the list recently.

I was going to go with Garand too but i think honestly when we are deciding between Garand, Robertson, Cuylle, and sadly i dont know enough about BMB and Sykora to put them over the three i already mentioned who have all progressed since theyve been drafted.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. We graduated Fox, Miller, Laf, Chytil, Kakko who are all in the early 20's and we have a fine group after them.

Garand for starting goalie potential. > Bottom pairing defenseman
I'm definitely not yet convinced he has legit starting goalie potential, and I don't think most here are or he would have been ranked much higher. He's had a great Junior career but I want to see how he does in the AHL. A lot of goalies put up good numbers in Juniors and don't amount to anything. I'm still excited to see what happens though with him.

Cuylle is underrated here, he had a great year in juniors, was on the Canada WJC roster. He has size, toughness and some scoring ability. He looks to be a definite NHL player, maybe even this year.

Was on Canada WJC roster? Berard not only was on US WJC Roster the year prior but was probably their best player as the 2nd youngest player in the entire tournament, if anything Cuylle is extremely overrated here. I NEVER hear that guys name outside of the Ranger board.

Maybe it's because for years we never drafted CHL players and people look at his and Othmann's stats and think wow! But their stats aren't that impressive. Look at stats of other already drafted players in the CHL. Ty Running scored 61 goals in 70 games lmao.

Thats not true...he was a pretty big thing in junior this year. The difference between Berard and Cuylle is that one is a man already and the other may never be big enough to play his game to its potential at the nhl level. Berard has a higher ceiling, Cuylle is more of a sure thing to be a regular.

As an over ager.

Look at the success rate of CHL players who outscored their teammates at the rate that Othmann did. A bunch of them turned into really, really good NHL players.

What Othmann did, in a vacuum, may not be incredibly noteworthy. But when you consider he outscored the number two guy on his team by 38 points, it provides some needed context. I mean there was the interview the other day where Cuylle talked about the playoff series against Othmann and how the whole strategy was to take Othmann out of the game. He really carried that whole team on his back with not a lot of support.

If we're talking about "special" years last season, from a statistical standpoint, Othmann's was as good as anyone on our list.
