add Boyko or Henriksson

voted Bobby T as he's a guy who's found his way, and success, at other levels despite the odds against him

[and some because he was willing to go to Hartford an take it step by step,
years later, still a bit annoyed Haggerty - or his agent - played self-defeating hardball, which IMHO torpedoed his pro career
coulda had many weeks w Hartford preparing for the next season, rather than a nosebleed seat at MSG
RPI died 1st weekend of ECACs, and Pack were still in playoff contention with ~6 weeks to go
but he turned into Raanta, so worthwhile signing in the end]

Of the guys left, I like Boyko and Ollas. Both showed a lot last year, albeit in small-ish samples after not having shown much previously. They are ones to watch, though.

Among skaters, my dark horses are Vaisanen and Kempf. I'm also interested to see Scanlin in a full season.

How did Trivigno become so well regarded? Because he had a good summer camp according to the press?

He had a distinguished college career and was one of the top UDFA's available this spring/summer. He came with a good amount of fanfare, and then yes, the positive stories from dev camp probably provided some helium. Even if you weren't to vote for him here, though, somewhere in this 12-17 range would definitely seem appropriate to me. There's no one not already on the list that I'd have in place of him, so he's in the proper cohort IMO.

I've seen a lot of him and am a big fan.

Does he have real 3rd line upside or are we hoping for Blais/Motte at the absolute best?

I've got Skinner ahead of Trivigno and Pajuniemi tied with him. Skinner will start getting a lot more consideration on here when Lundkvist gets traded. There will be an opening when Trouba is ultimately dealt. Skinner is still very young.

I can see the interest, it's just Trivigno strikes me as a classic AAAA player. Not quite good enough to be in the top 6, not quite the right mold to be a bottom 6 player.

Maybe there's an eventual spot as the scoring minded player on a NYR third line with Chytil and Blais/Goodrow as the other members.

Trivigno-Chytil-Goodrow has some balance.

I definitely think so. I think he has a lot of skill--more than most people give him credit for. But, just as importantly, he works really hard and is a pain in the ass (which seems to be a trend with guys the Rangers have targeted recently). He is one of those meat-and-potatoes guys who will do whatever is asked, but he is also a skilled player.

Of course the thing with him is always going to be size. Some guys can make it at his size, others just can't. I have no idea if he'll be able to translate his game. If he can, he'll be a guy who has a long career and probably ends up wearing an A somewhere down the line. If he can't, he's a AAAA guy, which is still useful, and is also IMO the likely upside to most of the rest of these guys.

bottom ten will be interesting in itself, we have 39 names in all
Ragnarsson and Elmer are gone,
prior whipping boys maybe showing some promise:
Kjellberg had a decent season, strong playoff and an interesting transfer,
Rueschhoff had a couple solid stretches last season
Lindbom coming to NA, Chmelar to NCAA
guys like Kampf and Khodorenko already have some supporters here

guessing at names like Hughes, Aaltonen, Karpa to bring up the bottom, but will be watching what y'all have to say about it
