I voted for Korczak. I think you could make a case that he should be neck and neck with Cuylle, or even ahead of him.

- Korczak has scored a little less than Cuylle this year (1.14 ppg vs 1.38 ppg), but the WHL is a lower scoring league and Cuylle benefits from playing on a line with the leading scorer in the OHL while Korczak is the top scorer on his team. If they were in similar situations, I think it's a decent bet that Korczak would be the higher scoring player.
- Korczak is 7.5 months younger
- Korczak plays a more valuable position with more defensive responsibility and my impression is that Korczak handles that responsibility well. He's looked good when I've watched him, he kills penalties for his team, and the defensive stats that are available for him look good:

I think the fact that Cuylle is bigger and held his own in the AHL are legitimate points that deserve consideration but I think the facts that Korczak is younger, plays a more valuable position, and plays in a lower scoring league with lower quality line mates are legitimate points also and the two should be pretty close.

This is basically a tie. Went with Ryder K because he is younger but don’t feel strongly about one or the other being outright better either way.

add Chmelar. Was last one of the last cuts on his team for juniors. Maybe something interesting there? Ambivalent about the rest of the list.

Went Korczak, barely over Paj. Just a gut feeling he’s going to be a steal.
Add Grubbe.

I'm on an island but I like Henriksson here. Add Tarmo
I would love nothing more than for him to blossom. I know he's 20 (21 in a couple weeks), but the fact that his line of 3-7-10 in 32 games between the SHL and Champions League represents a major production increase is...less than inspiring. He's actually averaging less TOI this year than last. He's been given many opportunities on the top line over the past two years, and while his overall game has improved, he just hasn't been able to produce yet. Then there's also the matter of being undersized and maybe, at best, an NHL-average skater, but more likely fringe-average or below-average.

There are no doubt some interesting skills there. I keep him in my "keep an eye on him" pile, but until there's something there to really make me optimistic the improvement is coming, I just can't get excited about him.

RE: Chmelař, definitely worth keeping an eye on, but I'd take a flyer on Väisänen ahead of Chmelař. He's only six months older but did make his WJC team, and has managed to stick the whole year in Liiga. Chmelař has been kind of struggling in the Finnish U20 which isn't the greatest competition.

I completely forgot about Vaisanen. I just remember reading some Chmelar stuff.

Won’t matter but will switch to him. You get the logic though.

Voted Korczak too but with some hesitation - I could see how Paju could wind up ahead in this round.
