I'm not a big fan of "So-and-so is underrated here!" but I do think Edström is a bit under the radar. He wasn't supposed to make the SHL at 19, but he did, and was very effective. He got better last season despite his numbers not really showing it, and was a big factor for Rögle in the playoffs. He's really strong, really physical (probably too physical for the SHL), and I think he skates enough to make it here as a pro. He also has a decent set of hands around the net.

what the hell happened to Henriksson?
His D+1 he managed 2 assists in 23 games split between the SHL and Allsvenskan and played the rest of the year in J20. His D+2 he got a lot of prime minutes with Frölunda to start but never really produced any offense, picked up a couple knocks, had a COVID situation that kept him out of the WJC, and eventually fell out of favor towards the end of the year and saw a reduction in ice time and some scratches. He managed just a single goal all year.

Throw in the same concerns about his size/skating combo that have existed since his draft, and this is what happens. His claim to fame at this point is being the center that Raymond and Holtz love playing with. Which is nice, but won't be in the cards for him moving forward.

He's been given an ELC and will be 20 most of the year, but I'd say it's still a pretty important season for him developmentally.

Unless he makes the team, 2 of his 3 ELC years will be spent in Sweden as he won't be AHL eligible until the 2023-24 season.

Upside is that he won't be arbitration eligible even if he makes the NHL for the entire duration of his ELC. Signing a player in the year of his 20th birthday has that advantage. Needing 4 years for arb eligibility on a 3-year ELC.

For context, when Mats Zuccarello was 20 he was still toiling in the Danish league, and Panarin was splitting time between the KHL and MHL.
Yeah and Zuccarello like Henriksson lacked both size and high-end skating. I don't see the same motor with Henriksson but the point remains, he's far from a finished story.

Edstrom. Add Lamb.

I can see Edstrom being an NHL role player. I have no idea what Henriksson’s path to the NHL is at this point
