Excellent

Who said he's the missing piece?

He's a very useful and affordable piece given how he was acquired, what was expected vs actual in terms of production and how his ability to play center or wing provides flexibility to the roster including protection for Chytil.
He's useful in the way that he can hang with Panarin and put up points. He doesn't play defense, he takes stupid penalties at an insane clip. And he's affordable for this season only

If he puts up 65 points this year, does anyone actually think he's going to take a discount?

Can I just say how awesome it is to have not one, but two star forwards in their prime on the NY Rangers?

We've had a lot of star tandems (Nash/Richards, Richards/Gaborik, Messier/Gretz) But almost none have been where both players are playing at the very peak of their performance. You pretty much have to go back to Leetch/Messier or Leetch/Kovalev for that.

Strome is one of the worst players in the NHL in terms of penalties taken and penalty differential. It is a serious detriment to his game.
THANK YOU RASP....

Yes I call out players for stupid penalties. We all do. But this is an issue with Strome. He isnt some Rookie. This is a habitual issue for a 26 year old (27 in July) in his 7th year in the league. They can find a better, more responsible player than Strome to play these top 6 minutes with Panarin. May not happen tomorrow but in due time it should. Strome can stay, reduced to a 3rd line role.

. It was a hard hit but it was clean. You don’t want to see anyone get hurt but there was nothing g wrong with the hit. They are just whiny about everything. One guy came on here and said we had 4 “lucky goals” lol. He must have forgotten how the Isles got their first goal
Like I said, dumb and delusional. They are all in thanks to that washed up old hack Lamoriello, have an absolute disastrous prospect pool and few picks, are close to cap trouble and have no f***ing high end talent other than Barzal (who falls over when someone 14 rows back sneezes). But you know it's all the refs fault because the NHL has an office in Manhattan. Dumb and delusional.

I haven’t felt this excited about a Rangers team since the 2014-2015 season. Like I haven’t felt the desire to rush home to watch a game in years and I absolutely love this team for giving that back to me. It wasn’t even there earlier this year, mid winter they really flipped a switch and became enjoyable again.

also for me it's not like he takes a lot because he's chippy like Lemieux and can cross the line (Lemieux actually has a positive penalty differential which is pretty impressive for the kind of player he is). Strome's penalties are basically all stick penalties and they speak to how lazy and poor he is defensively. Lot's of hooking and tripping. I don't think it's acceptable out of a top 6 center especially when you have the PK we do.

Fox and TDA are about to join that list shortly...

Co-sign. Thanks to ESPN+ (worth the $5/month for all of the Rangers games they've put on), NHL Network and NHL.TV's free games... I think there's only 10 games I haven't been able to watch in NC this year. Even if they miss the playoffs, it's been fun following this team.

I can guaranty that Quinn isn't okay with that. No coach likes lazy penalties in the offensive zone. When the feet stop moving and you reach out with the stick, bad things are going to happen.

He put him out at the end of the game, pretty much proves you wrong.

There was definitely contact to the head from what I saw but it was incidental. Islander player had his head way down and Trouba did all he can to avoid making primary contact to the head without torpedoing him
Last night, Sam and Joe lamented the fact that in today's game a good, hard (and clean) hit always leads to a fight and other nonsense.

And on the Ryan Strome thing, no one wanted this guy, Edmonton traded him for literally nothing. Suddenly he starts producing at a good clip with an MVP candidate and he's some missing piece ?

Chemistry with Panarin aside, he's so bad at everything else. Anyone saying "well maybe he'll take a discount because he's got a good situation here" I mean give me a break

That's wrong....he was producing last year when Panarin wasnt here and wasnt on Panarins line for the first 9 or so games this year before Zibanajad got hurt and was producing around a point a game then too.

I thought the no-goal call should've been overturned, but I thought there was clear interference on the goal that was allowed (Lee pushing Staal into Geo), so I'm good.

By the letter of the law that’s interference. Lee clearly in the top of the crease not allowing Georgie to play the entire blue paint. Ref was not wrong and lee made zero attempt to vacate the top of the crease.

He also had nowhere to go.
