maybe soon the Pajuniemi signing might get officially announced too

Probably not until he's released (same as Lundkvist). Pajuniemi did not make the cut for the WC so as soon as that tournament starts, they can announce it. Until then, he can still be an emergency call up.

The rules re: this are such a PITA

So with Drury and Grier in upper management...is Drury trying to get the band back together? How long until the likes of Briere and Rivet join the NYR brass? Briere is only a phone call away in Maine...

Definitely wouldn’t mind Briere in some capacity.

But ended up reading about Toronto’s hire of Malhotra for some reason, think I was googling on Hackstol, and I mean when you read about how Toronto recruits personnel and men every position in the organizations with talented persons having distinguished themselves — it is hard to not get a little annoyed at this thing we constantly have where background and connections seem to matter so darn much.

Why did Toronto hire Malhotra? He has distinguished himself working tremendously hard taking coaching to new levels. With us it’s so much friends and family. Who will we hire? Ok let’s start with a filter of Boston connections. ;)

With that said, Brier seem to be really serious with his management career and he was a really smart player. Is the right guy? I have no idea. But at least he has some merits.

You know what, that 2007 Sabres team had the best roster I've ever seen.

I also didn't know Grier was the brother of the GM for the Miami Dolphins

So that's pretty cool.

Scary good! f*** that team! I thought they lost to Ottawa in the ECF.

Islanders played them tough, Rangers played them tougher.

Rangers were so close to going up 3-2 in that series. Straka playing with a shoulder tear scored the go-ahead goal and then the icing and GM Drury scored because Nylander had to take the faceoff and not Betts/Ortmeyer and friends out there to preserve the lead.
