Rangers have lost 6 out of their last 7 games. What would you do if you were Dolan (the owner of the team) or Drury (the GM)?

Fire Drury into the sun for being an idiot. Should have done it after trading Buchnevich to make way for a Barclay f***ing Goodrow signing. Imagine inhering Shestyorkin, Fox, Buchnevich, Panarin, Kreider, Cuylle, Kaakko, Schneider, Miller, having all your picks to work with and this is the best you can do lmao

Buchnevich, Strome, Kakko, Lafreniere, Othmann, Schneider, and a 1st were all on the table and at play and would've been more than enough of a package for Jack's neck and miles better than two middling busts and 60 point RW but Adams was being pushed by the Pegulas to hound the Rangers and continue upping the offer, scaring them off, they did not do this with Vegas or any other team interested, just the Rangers. Like I said, heaven forbid you deal a player to the Rangers and it's a fair trade.

GM's are too afraid to deal with NYR because every trade makes the big headlines and to have a trade be perceived as a loss by their own fanbase is a sin to them. The Pegulas are wackos and couldn't stomach the thought of Jack in NY for some unknown deluded reason but if I had to guess it's most likely because of that idiotic podcaster who bought a billboard in BUF.

It's cheap and petty, just like that Ottawa owner having a melty at the Rangers over a literal Hockey rumor-mill article written by Larry f***ing Brooks
Is it that unusual though to refuse a better offer in order to trade a player outside of the conference? Assuming what you’re saying is true, I actually don’t really blame them.

Either way, dumb move by the podcast guys essentially painting Buffalo into a corner with the billboard. Dumber move by Buffalo not letting him get the surgery, although I suspect a trade request was probably inevitable at that point

They should have started Quick yesterday against the Kings, for one. He's still a problem for opposing teams when he's motivated and you have to think the rest of the room would go to bat for him against his former team.

The game was already over when he came in but he made all 13 stops he was asked to, vs Shesterkin's 5 goals on 21 shots.

Kind of baffling they didn't go that route. I know he had a rough outing recently but if there was ever a guy who is fired up to bounce back after those situations, it's him.

Yeah GMs are so scared that the Rangers only traded McDonagh, Miller, Buchnevich, Georgiev, Skjei, Stepan and traded for Fox, Zibanejad, Trouba, Lindgren, Tarasenko, Patrick Kane, Rielly Smith, Copp, Howden, Namestnikov, Braun, Vatrano, the Miller pick, the Schneider pick and a 7th overall. How can any organization be expected to build anything in that sort of trade jail.

sad but true...
Since mid November they’ve been outscored 47-28 with 1 goal wins over Montreal and Buffalo, and a 2 goal win over Pittsburgh. Those 3 wins were against bottom 10 teams, two are bottom 4. This isn’t a skid. Three wins that were very nearly losses, against bottom feeding teams, in their last 12 games is an implosion. They’re playing the worst, least motivated, least engaged hockey I’ve ever seen from an NHL team in my life. If it were possible to fire players, I would literally let half of them become UFAs tomorrow for no return whatsoever.

Dolan: Put the team up for sale?

Drury: Offer his resignation?

What are Rangers' fans looking for here?
Those things would be nice. Also fire Laviolette and dump/buy-out half the core.

So sick of these vanilla ass excuses of "hockey players" just coasting and doing nothing.

We traded Buchnevich so we could sign Goodrow and Nemeth to awful deals. Like you said - Drury should've been fired after that or at least gotten tomatoes and eggs thrown at him at Times Square by all of New York.

As bad as that was, its crazy to think the Rangers might have a cup if not several if they just stand pat in 2018 and not punt Miller and McDonagh to Tampa

Quick sucked ass against Seattle a few nights before that. Let in 5 goals on like the first 15 shots or some shit like that.

With the way our forwards and defensemen play "defense" both are going to get torched this season.

IIRC the Rangers are on the bottom 2-3 list in the league when it comes to giving up chances this season.

Prime Hasek wouldn't do shit for us with the way we're playing. We're really that bad...

Shows you how much more important team D and coaching is than pure goaltending talent.

Which is why the $11.5 to Sheshterkin is wack.

The Buchnevich trade will always taste sour but Sammy Blais could've been a really good player had PK Subban not blown out his f***ing ACL not even 20 games into the season.

Everytime people bring up the Buch trade they fail to acknowledge how different it could've looked had Subban not ended that guys career.

Lol this has to be a joke post right? At no point before he got traded to New York did he ever look like a player that should be traded for a guy coming off a season of 48 pts in 54 games.

Can you please provide proof the league is conspiring against the Rangers? I'm legit asking because I'm legit curious.

C’mon lol, players recover from ACL injuries, especially at 24/25 years old.

Also the Rangers traded him in a package for Mikkola and Tarasenko to St. Louis. Tank is definitely much better than Blais.

He just wasn’t good enough.

That's why I said the trade was sour regardless of how you look at it but in my opinion Sammy Blais was bound for a top-6 gig with NYR and he was looking really good before PK did what PK does best. I was predicting around 40-50 points that season for Sammy.

I never stated that the league is "conspiring" against the Rangers. It is however genuinely interesting to me how there's this narrative being strung up about how the Rangers are suddenly mistreating their own players and that the league is "taking notice" as if no other GM axes their problem children when the time comes.

Sammy has never been the same since that injury and he's off in la-la-land of the AHL now. Thanks PK!

Still a shitty trade no matter how you slice it.

Fair enough and I appreciate the response.

Everything that leaked from the whole Drury and Trouba situation was a very unique situation that caused a ripple effect around the league.

Ya and he would never have been as good as Tarasenko, healthy or not.
