Rangers have lost 15 out of their last 19 games. What would you do if you were Dolan (the owner of the team) or Drury (the GM)?

Pardon my ignorance, but why is nothing being done by this team yet? They went from top team in the League to almost last, and they havent done anything to correct this. Why are the players not reacting more? Like wth is going on? Never saw this without someone being fired or a drastic change.

My theory is that Dolan has been too focused on his father's illness and passing that he's completely oblivious to whats happening to the Rangers.

Why are the players not reacting? They are. Drury decided to pull a Herb Brooks and make the entire team hate him. Unfortunately the players didn't unite to prove him wrong, they just decided the sacrifices made at the NHL level wasn't worth doing for a management team that everyone hates. Then Drury rage traded players who spoke up against him and didn't bother to replace any of them.

So you have a team where 90% of the players are pissed off and has a bunch of holes that make them outclassed on the ice. Only players who are ignoring the whole debacle are the younger players fighting for a place on an NHL team.

Rangers fans would hate that trade - they were ecstatic when the Devils took Hughes ahead of them
Minority of NYR fans.

The only thing Dolan could do is fire Drury, or ask Drury to fire the coach. He didn't. It's not like he can run the practice. I don't think that has anything to do with this father's illness/eventually passing.

Last year was their last true chance for the Cup with this core, anyone with eyes could see that. They just ran into a killer team in Florida and then the whole offseason stuff and the only add to this team being Reilly Smith was always going to have problems.

Rangers fans would hate that trade - they were ecstatic when the Devils took Hughes ahead of them

Feel bad for diehard NYR fans who never shat on Jack as a prospect during that time, the NYR media and some of their fans got carried away with Kakko as a prospect because of their biggest rival getting the better player and it arguably doomed him a little bit with expectations. If the Rangers had 1 and the Devils had 2 that year, you wouldn't have heard a peep about Kakko being on Jack's level.

When something like this happens it's usually cause the players have tuned out the coach. I remember in the early 00s when Julien first coached the Habs they went from first overall before the holidays and went into an incredible losing streak and barely saved their season. It was such a painful stretch.

Honestly, I don’t even know what’s more baffling. The fact that we have lost 15 of 19 games and two of the four teams we beat have been perennial cellar dwellers and still are, or the fact that we have somehow literally gotten doubled up in goals over a 19 game period. 72 goals allowed against 36 scored. That’s genuinely insane to me.

I saw some of the second and third periods of the NYR/FLA game (was hoping the Panthers would lose since TOR is battling with them for first in the Atlantic).

I was surprised by how well the Rangers played in the parts I saw (though I'm sure that had a lot to do with the Panthers not being at their best and possibly not taking the game that seriously - not like they've been great themselves recently). The Rangers were getting in on the forecheck and playing a physical game. They didn't look like the soft perimeter team they can be.

If they keep playing that way, maybe they can manage to grab a Wild Card spot. I think they're probably toast for the season, though. Took too long to wake the hell up.
