Rangers have lost 15 out of their last 19 games. What would you do if you were Dolan (the owner of the team) or Drury (the GM)?

This literally isn't true -- there are many, many teams who would've loved to sign Adam Fox. So no, they didn't give him an "opportunity of a lifetime," because he no doubt had 30 other teams who would've jumped at the chance to sign him.

Lol "muh disrespect"

pretty much says it all

But Gretzky leveraged his way out of being stuck on a bottom feeder that drafted 1st overall. As did Jagr, and Elway, and Manning. They all won championships though?

So maybe you're just choosing to interpret a TEAM failure as the result of some imagined moral shortcoming?
Gretzky literally would have been drafted by the best organization in the world at the time 1st overall by Montreal had he not gone to the WHA. Sam Pollock traded for the 1st round pick that terrible Golden Seals team had like his life counted on it.

You're otherwise putting Adam freaking Fox in the same breath as sports royalty to make your point. Dude let me know when this kid can even properly defend a 2 on 1 before you do that

We aren't doing this anymore. Good day sir

Does James Dolan regularly show up at Rangers games? I'm not a frequent basketball viewer, but I know enough(in particular from photos in the New York Post) that he sits on the baseline at Knicks games. Since 1946(the year the Knicks were born), the Knicks and Rangers have combined for three titles, amazing given the supposed cache and power of playing in Manhattan.

Dolan needs to wink if he's kept without his will

Why do you think he went to the WHA in the first place and signed that sketchy personal services contract that no one else at the time had? Gave him and his dad control over where he ended up instead of being stuck on the worst team, or rolling the dice on whoever they might trade their pick to.

Wayne never had a bad word to say about anyone but he infamously went ham on the NJ Devils org being an embarrassment to the league…. Guess who would have drafted him if he hadn’t used his leverage to “force his way onto” the team of his choice?

You're otherwise putting Adam freaking Fox in the same breath as sports royalty to make your point.
No, actually you’re the one who said

“it's disrespectful no matter who you are to pull that shit whether you want to play for that team or not.”

I had mentioned earlier that they should all shave their sideburns, and none of them delivered.

Kick the entire roster off the team.

Look no further:

What would I do if I was Dolan?

Invite Avery to Brunch for a free Consultation.

Then I would soft tamper with some other Organizations utilizing a selected Beat writer of choice.

I stand corrected. Thought you were defending the Rags good fortune to be a preferred market

Regardless, it is a huge risk for teams nowadays that players - seemingly at an increasing rate - want to determine their destination. And that is bad for the overall health of the league, IMO. The compensation for drafting a player and not being able to sign him is not adequate. Playing for the team that drafted you should be a "sacred cow".

How about removing the salary cap or getting rid of the draft lottery? That would benefit only a few teams in the league as well.
Correct.

This isn't the 80s with have-not franchises who were never competitive and they held on to a player's rights for a ridiculous amount of time.

By the time a player reaches their prime they are UFA and can go wherever they choose. The current system creates parity and is good for the health of the league. People seem to forget just how bad of a state the league was pre salary cap/revenue sharing.

I'll say it again. It's a team full of players who (some more than others) screwed over their old clubs in some way so they can go chase whatever is so great about New York City. It is not a group who realizes you can pour your guts into it for 3 years, get to 2 ECFs, win a President's Trophy and all that hard work doesn't mean shit. That isn't to say they didn't work hard, play like champions and sacrifice. Their mistake was thinking this couldn't last more than a few years
Who besides Fox? Panarin was a UFA

It's going to be hard to convince McDavid to sign with you guys. He's the type of dude who wants to win a cup & doesn't strike me as a guy who just wants to chase the money. You guys are going to have to offer him near 20 mill which would be insane. Between him & Igor you wouldn't be able to make any moves. Your team is very flawed. You need a top center, a whole new d core, and wingers. You guys need to bite the bullet and go scorched earth rebuild. You have 0 star prospects.
If we did have good, young, cheap players we would trade them for AHL defensemen

Pardon my ignorance, but why is nothing being done by this team yet? They went from top team in the League to almost last, and they havent done anything to correct this. Why are the players not reacting more? Like wth is going on? Never saw this without someone being fired or a drastic change.

Because in no sense could Carolina or Calgary be considered his “former team”, since he never signed a contract with them. They each got a fair return for his signing rights, no reason to feel bad for them.

Screwing over your team would be signing a contract and then refusing to honor it. He literally never did that.
What Fox did was fair but fans reaction to players basically refusing to sing with the team that drafted them have always been chastised for doing so by many fans and that's fair too right?

Also where have all the FOX is by far better than Makar and the rest of the Dman posts gone?

While he is a much better Dman than Subban, he did win his first and probably only Norris in a shortened unbalanced schedule season and there were obvious signs that is wouldn't be repeated.

No one else wants to bail Drury out of his situation based on the 3 trades he made (Goodrow, Trouba, Kakko)/his players are probably refusing to waive their trade protection to get sent to other dumpsterfire situations.

Even if the players did waive I'm sure the return they'd get would be underwhelming & not even worth it.

Teams aren't exactly going to be lining up for Kreider and Zibby now. Maybe Trocheck? But would NY move him?

Can you clarify what you mean? Since the start of the season, they traded Trouba and traded Kakko. What else do you expect to see happen that leads you to believe there is "nothing being done". They have the team they have and if they end up sucking all rest of the year, can consider blowing it all up.

Dolan only cares about the Rangers when Tom Wilson ragdolls your superstar forward on home ice. Otherwise, it's all about the Knicks for him (which honestly, let him waste his meddling with them). He at least lets the Rangers hockey people do their thing. Unfortunately, that person is Drury, who he personally wanted to take the GM position, so I'm afraid Drury isn't going anywhere.
