Yeah it's quite idiotic. The "Drury is trying to justify Kakko" take is the absolute dumbest, as if he didn't jettison Sammy Blais back to St. Louis or creatively dump Goodrow when he needed to. Drury makes some stupid moves but he doesn't seem like he's afraid to admit them and move forward.

I think it’s dumb to not think that’s part of his motivation. And can we stop fellating Drury for taking 4 years to get rid of Goodrow? That’s not admitting a mistake, that’s just putzing around until it looks like a cap casualty. Admitting it was stupid would’ve been ripping off the band aid after year one

Vaakanainen is an RFA, wouldn’t be surprised if he just gets a QO and takes it. Wouldn’t be shocked if Drury extends him 5x2.65M either.

I'm by no means up in arms about this, but it's absolutely a significant commitment based on a small sample size.

Well Schneider has free rein to be a dumpster fire with zero consequences so I doubt there would be much evaluation. Subtracting Lindgren and Schneider though would be massive for this window

Solid price for Borgen. I hope he continues to be a steady presence back there. I still view him as a guy you want on your bottom pair if you’re contending, but he’s fine as a 4 until we get there as well. And this price isn’t a problem, even for a steady bottom pairing guy.

Jones and Lindgren will be gone. My guess is going into next season with Vaak and Miller on the roster. Sign a 6/7 just in case Mancini can’t make the jump.

Is it a Top 5 D core in the league? Nope. But they won’t be a weakness.

Borgen has a couple of seasons at or above 20 points in Seattle. He’s more Klein-like

Which makes it even more logical that we overpaid for Borgen and now Miller will cost more

Rangers organizational depth at RD is excellent. If Schneider can play either side, that's huge.
