Rangers trade C Oscar Lindberg to the Blackhawks for D Ville Pokka

I think that Lindberg would be an upgrade over Rasmussen and may even push Kruger sooner rather than later. He just needs an opportunity, but I have a feeling that Josh Jooris (when he becomes healthy again) and Boo Nieves will be higher on the C depth chart.

Pokka would instantly become the Rangers best RHD prospect

Both teams need defensive depth, hard to see how they make good trading partners

Been a Lindberg fan since he was in Sweden and would hurt to lose him, but this is a deal that we need to make. Good proposal.

I had hopes for him to be a long term replacement for Dom Moore, but right now there's no room for him, and at his age he's not the best option to center a shutdown line, and is not skilled enough to center an offensive line.

dont know all too much about Polka but from what ive heard about him i am in as a ranger fan, Lindberg would be way more productive elsewhere, can be replaced in lineup by Pirri and Jooris when healthy. Good Offer if blackhawks are interested in Lindberg

Lindberg is a good middle 6 utility forward. Strong on the boards, physical, shoots the puck a fair amount, scores ok at ES, a prototypical 3rd liner. He can play center also. I don't know how high CHI value Pokka but I'm interested in a deal like this once Jooris comes back.

I think Chicago will trade Pokka for anything without thinking twice. It looks like he doesn't have a place in the team's plans.

It's extremely premature to ***** Lindberg as a middle 6 player, if we're to be objective.

He was scratched late last year (though struggling with an injury) and hasn't been able to carve out a spot consistently in the NYR top 9.

He'll be included in proposals because, frankly, right now he is surplus to requirements in NY and that may lower his value around the league.

Chicago doesn't have the cap space for Lindberg even with sending down Rasmussen as you suggest he would replace.

If they want to make the trade they will make it work. Lindberg only makes 650k i think

Rasmussen makes 575k, lindberg makes 650k like you said. hawks have 55k in cap space

I would do this trade though. I don't think pokka is going to be anything though. Maybe Pokka+4th for lindberg@50% (325k for the remainder of the year)

In my opinion Chicago needs depth, in general haha.

Yeah, on offense. We had a defense issure last year. We have a pretty decent defensive corps this year with Keith, Seabrook, hjammer, Campbell. Forsling, Kempny, TVR on the NHL club already. As well as Rozival but I don't want to get into that.

55k in cap space, but Hawks are carrying 24 players on the cap. Desjardins is on IR. When he comes back, someone will have to go down. Tootoo, Hartman, Hinostroza. Any of them could be sent down.

Hartman isn't goind down, hes actually played pretty well. Tootoo will stay whether we like it or not. Hino could go down though.

Either way I'd always love to get a player at as little cap as possible all things considered.

I love Lindberg so this would be a crippling one, but it's worth a shot for a young RHD.

Crippling personally.....not crippling to the team. I view him as odd man out.....Fast seems to be better suited for AV's system and liked more by AV than Lindy.
