As much as it pains me to say it, we need to start dressing Smith as a D-man again to showcase to some teams that he can still play. With his caphit being higher than his salary next season he may be of interest to a team like the Sens, especially as they currently only have 2 D-men signed for 20/21.
Play him, then trade him with a pick and some retained salary at the draft

Mckegg is a better forward than Smith. I realize that isn't a popular sentiment, but I believe it to be true.

As cool as it would be to see Gauthier with Panarin and Strome, I doubt they do that in his first game. Hopefully he sees some time on pp2 though, otherwise he's only going to play around eight minutes.
