Rangers don't need Fowler at all. If anything, they'd be targeting Vatanen. I feel like a trade around Vatanen and Miller could be a decent enough base.

Ducks need more forwards, Rangers need more defenseman.

If we acquire another D-man before the ED then we'll certainly buy Girardi out, it's pretty likely even if we don't acquire a D-man before.

I think that's pretty much fair value, i'd be somewhat disappointed with fair value though from a NYR perspective given the troubles Ducks are in.

I absolutely refuse to watch the Rangers if they acquire Fowler.

Can't see a deal between the two here w/o a third party that accomplishes anything meaningful. Rangers only have 2 mil in cap space and 2 mil isn't going to help the Ducks enough to get Lindholm signed.

Fowler can play the right side but the issue here is the cap and maybe real dollars that Anaheim would need to free up to get Lindholm signed. Rangers don't have enough of it to where a trade with them can make that happen.

I love that this board value Sami more than Cam...I hope a GM out there does as well and we can move Sami and keep Cam. This is coming from a guy who views Fowler as a #2-4 Dman. I just think we have the guys in our system - Montour and even Theodore to replace most of what Sami brings.

It probably has to do with Cam Fowler, but is there any chance whatsoever the Rangers can pry Sami Vatanen from the Ducks? Maybe JT Miller+ for Vats?

Most likely no. He was very good last year and I doubt they signed him to trade him.

Fowler is on a pretty good deal himself but the trade doesn't make sense either way from a money perspective.

Okay i thought i heard that Fowler wasn't good on the right side, Still wouldn't mind bringing him home a DDK-Fowler pairing might be pretty sweet. Yeah Tatar and Miller make the same and a Tatar for Fowler deal wouldn't work out for Anaheim maybe something around Spooner for Fowler would make far more sense here.
