If it wasn't mentioned before, but Rykov has a sprained ankle from Traverse. That kind of sucks, but at least he won't be out for too long.

Methinks we see some Krava at center just because. Maybe they think this would be the appropriate time to ‘do some diligence’ if you will. Not justifying it, not saying he’s a center. But maybe they figure this is a really low stakes situation to see if they can get him reps there and if they like what they see.

In the third round, taking a player with the tools Day has isn't a bad philosophy. People have traditionally complained about our lack of high end talent due to an excess of "safe" picks. You can't then turn around and complain when we take a high risk project like Day. In making the pick, you know he's one that's gonna have to marinate for a while, but you hope he eventually puts it together. I'm fine with the pick at that spot, even if he never plays a second for us.

i would rather have taken a chance on that type of player from Europe in a men's league like a Zidlicky type for example. those players have more potential in my opinion

Not sure how you can describe a guy who was a projected to be a 1st rounder at one point, that we nabbed in the 3rd (knowing the risk/reward as that is what most 3rd round picks or later are), as an awful pick.

I agree with this. Going for the homer is fine

So is DeAngelo praying Belesky gets dealt cause it’s the only way he’s eeking out say 2 million per 1 year . I actually think he should be paid that there’s just no space now

Sucks about Rykov. Really wanted to see the battle between him and Hajek unfold. Hopefully it’s not too bad and he’ll be back on the ice for the preseason tilts
True, but I also think Reunanen makes a push here and challenges Hajek.

People are also quickly forgetting Lindgren. Not enough mention for him.

It is easy to look back now and say that. At the time, getting a 1st round talent like Day was a no brainer. The potential far outweighed the risk. It sucks that this year basically confirms the organization believes he is toast but it is what it is.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, overall I can't remember a more exciting time as a Rangers fan. The future just looks so bright.

Thing is that top line very easily might be the teams third line to start the season. Could see it drawn up that way have those guy get comfortable. Essentially replacing Buchnevich with Kravtsov from a line that was pretty good at the end of the season
