Ralph Strangis to call 7 games with Jim Fox while Bob Miller recovers

Wishing Bob a speedy recovery. In the meantime, the broadcast is in great hands. Ralph and Bob have a great, loose chemistry together. I have enjoyed their calls the most of the fill-in's so far.

Depends on how he and his family feels. He's already doing the reduced work schedule a la Vin Scully. Bob's still got the heart for it, so I doubt he retires yet, but it's coming sooner than we want.

I'm hoping they put Gary perma-tan Thorne in the seat. It was great hearing him call games a few weeks ago. A buddy of mine here in Chicago was jealous of it

I thought he was the worst of the guest announcers so far.

Didn't seem familiar with the Kings players to me, which is a problem if you are the PbP guy for a specific team.

He's an East Coast guy to me. Strangis was calling Pacific Division games for years and is more familiar with the teams out here.

His rapport with Fox also makes it less jarring to not be hearing Bob's voice.

To me he was the worst, kept getting Fox all worked up and gigglely. Please don't get him going.

I'm perfectly fine with Strangis being Bob's full time replacement, I have no doubts that Bob is retiring after the season
