Shit dude, if we had McDavid instead of Rossi we would have won too. See, I can post irrelevant things as well.
You said the lineup would get caved in. I think they would have won that game. Pretty simple to find some relevance there when wasting time discussing what we each see for a direction

I misinterpreted it as you just inserting Marner and Granlund over Johansson-Gaudreau-Zucc in our current lineup.

Your lineup definitely gets caved in. Rossi gapped by Eichel. Your tiny 1st line abused by Vegas' big d core. Your d core is dog water relying on a rookie for both the 1st and 2nd pair. I think it would be an embarrassing 4-0 sweep.

Damn, JEE was so close to this last year and the year before, Like 10 faceoffs away.
I think Rossi will get there or get really close in the next few years.
JEE took years to develop. But apparently some are only willing to give Rossi 2 years. Doesn't make sense. He was fine until his injury in March. I have no doubt he'll be moved. And I look forward to it backfiring and the complaining about how we let him go.

I guess the years Rossi was in the AHL don't count for development? Or the year he was given every chance to stick with the team but was a deer in the headlights at the NHL level? Rossi will be 24 next year and has played 116 AHL and 185 NHL games under his belt with the Wild. JEE finished 4th in the Selke voting with less games played than that (23/24 yo season).

The team has enough info on Rossi to make educated decisions. I just think those decisions will be flawed because they are playing Rossi at center and not wing.

Martin St.Louis played 200 games before his first 70pt season at age 27

If the bar that needs to be met to play center on this team is to be as good as Ek defensively, we're never going to have another center again.

So you're saying Rossi needs to move to wing?

Every single one of your posts on this topic is infuriating to me because I am so certain that you can understand the fact that young players generally improve with more experience, and we even have examples of it happening on our team and on every other team ever, but when Rossi comes up you bend over backwards to completely disregard it. You act as if he's a finished product now, as if what he is now means he can never be something better. It's legitimately maddening.

Between the Rossi hate and somehow identifying the Bogosian goal as Buiums fault I think we can safely say that Wabits true identity is one other than John Hynes!!!!

Yep, just with Rossi. I never said a bad word about any other young player. Yurov, Zeev, Boldy, MaratK, basically every prospect that is penciled into the NHL lineup because of a good jr season, ect. They've all gotten flying colors from me with not a bad word said.

Let me make this clear. I don't care about what a player might become. The current results on the ice is what matters to me. The higher you play in the lineup the higher the expectations.

Top-6 centers need to be good in all zones. If they are only good in the d-zone they get buried in the bottom-6 with PK duties. If they are only good in the o-zone they get moved to wing and PP time.

I don't like Rossi's d-zone game. Defensive play is roughly half the time most players spend on the ice. To put it even clearer about what I think of his d-zone game. The Wild PK is terrible and (imo) Rossi would be downgrade if he was put on it.

I'd gladly take his paycheck. I'd probably just use the money to upgrade my current rust buckets with parts from amazon rust buckets with OEM parts.

Glad we are sticking with Zeev. I think he will have a big game at some point in this series. The signs are there.

I don't even know where to start with this, so I won't.

I'll just say that I am glad to have a very young, 60 pt, C on the team, who has improved every year, and appears to have great character, overcoming size and health obstacles. I vividly remember how weak and slow Granlund was at a similar time in his career, and he turned out OK. Just because Rossi might not be a an elite #1C doesn't mean that he is useless.

Can we all just state clearly that we like Rossi , we appreciate what he’s done and that he is a special player?

I like the kid , I want him to succeed and I want him to do it for the wild.

Almost the entirety of the perceived negative sentiment on this board is from him having a few down months and the rumor his asshole agent is looking for a big payday.

If we are all being honest Faber and for long stretches Boldy were far more disappointing than Rossi.

But this is a business , and as I've stated it’s not clear cut to lock this kid up right now.

I'm pretty sure he's the guy that didn't think Rossi should've even been a 1st round pick. Probably still holding onto that.

Lot of the Rossi trade chatter here stems from the persistent rumors that he and the FO aren’t on great terms. Could be BS, or could be true.

I tend to agree with the rumors. Bit too much smoke for there not to be fire.

I also think he lacks the energy to be an effective player in the postseason and he’s been invisible when he doesn’t have 12 or 97 on his flank.

Very difficult player to evaluate. Not many Cs his size but then again we need scoring Cs of any shape/size.

You mean when he's being asked to carry a line as a 2nd year guy? The number of players where linemates don't seem to matter, you can count both hands and maybe a few toes.

It might be a fair question to ask if he should be the planned 1C going forward, and I'm not against opinions to contrary. I do think he can be (and probably already currently is) and good 2C sandwiched between a legit 1C and Eriksson Ek.

Yeah that’s a fair point. Be nice if this team had some bonafide 2nd line Ws. I don’t see a 1C coming unless we can miraculously acquire EP or Barzal this summer. He may have to just be attached to 97 and masquerade as a 1C

Yeah, that's the thing. I can't figure out the equation to get one of those guys without Rossi going the other way. Unless or 2026 1st rounder ends up being good enough to do it.

I mean seriously…that’s just a ludicrous statement. You don’t like the player, fine. But to agree with something nobody knows anything about is just on another level even for hfboards.

You better have a very immediate plan to put an elite winger on the other side of Kap or his desire to sign here is probably zero.

Only thing ludicrous here is your response.

He’s not extended, he’s been benched in the 3rd in recent important games and our beat writers have been hinting that he will be traded this offseason for months.
