I don’t think Marat would be playable in this series. Brazeau isn’t great, but he’s disruptive on the forecheck with his reach and he’s finishing some checks.

Zeev still looks a bit indecisive and hesitant, as is to be expected, but I really enjoy watching him play. I wish Bogo wasn’t running around the D zone so much. You’re paired with OFD 19 year old, help the kid out!

Fun times. I did not see this coming. Still, we've gone up 2-1 too many times just to lose at the next two or three.

These lines make sense to me. I’d be fine with Ohgren swapping in there for Nyquist too.

Kap - Ek - Boldy
Foligno - Hartman - Virus
Nyquist - Rossi - Zucc
Trenin - Gaudreau - Brazeau
I'm not ready to have Ohgren play a big role. But Nyquist is definitely playing his way out of the lineup and Ohgren on a 3rd line role would be quite fitting and good place for him to settle in. And I've never came off with the impression that Hynes is a Nyquist fan either.

This is what I'd like to see if Johansson is out:

Kap - Ek - Boldy
Foligno - Hartman - Zucc
Ohgren - Rossi - Virus
Trenin - Gaudreau - Brazeau

I think we should just double shift Treniyawn and put Merrill back, going 11/7.
Treniyawn can be a net front on the second line, and a wrecking ball on the fourth. I'm sure he has the speed and stride to pull this off, riding 2 horses at the same time by the looks of it.

What if Merrill is actually good, but only looked bad because he was paired with Bogosian? 🤔

Bogo wasn’t around for the series against the Blues where he showed he’s terrible. It’s a miracle he played every game of that series. No clue how he’s managed to play 200 NHL games since then either.

Zeev would have settled that and moved it up the boards
I know the goal against wasn't Bogosian's fault, but I truly don't understand how Hynes can watch Bogosian constantly put Zeev in a bad defensive spot and think, "yeah, Zeev is going to be benched for OT cause it's too risky to play him." Like, what the actual f***...

Buium should NOT have been benched

I may get pushback on this but I don't enjoy the way Hynes shortened his bench at all in OT. I understand why it's done, but I don't think he had his finger on the pulse here.

Riding the top line too much, Boldy played 33 minutes tonight, Kaprizov wasn't far behind him. Trenin-Rossi-anyonebutBrazeau was good tonight, but only played 11 minutes, and only like 1-2 shifts in OT. Buium benched, which was especially egregious on the PP.

Think he was playing not to lose, and as I said in the GDT, usually when you play to not lose, you tend to not win more often than not.

Top line was quiet. Would’ve liked to see more of Trenin & Rossi. Didn’t love seeing 46 on the PP in OT.

Oh well. Get em in Game 5

Here's the real test for Hynes, last 3 playoffs, in this situation, we would run the exact same lines because we would think "we are still playing close games".

I want to see that 3rd line adjusted. Nyquist is essentially useless.

I wonder how much of it was the penalty, which, yeah, wasn't good on Buium's part, but honestly, the goal on the PP shouldn't have been a goal anyway.

Just a bad call to bench Zeev, overplay Bogosian. Especially to bench him for the PP. That's one of the instances where people say Hynes favors vets at the expense of the young guys, and I think it's valid in that instance. Bogosian is worse than Buium, but gets the runway because he's the vet.

Thought they played well. Some unlucky bounces. Some horseshit calls against them. It happens. I still like our chances.
