I get the feeling Khus threatened to head back to the khl and Guerin threw a fit and trade him. He didn’t care if he had to add Lauko and a pick to be rid of him and he looked at Brazeau size and said I’ll take that one.
He had been assigned to the AHL a few days prior to the tradeI guess if Guerin told him he was going to the AHL, maybe? But I don't know why Guerin would do tha. Plus the timing right at the deadline makes me think that wasn't what happened. Think it was a premeditated move by Guerin to get more size in the bottom six.

You don't give up on a 22 year old rookie because he's not quite a good NHL player yet.
Seriously which player do you want on the team:
NHL: 91 games: 6g/16p KHL: 162 games, 22g/75p
NHL: 96 games: 16g/29p AHL: 189 games, 53g/118p
I'll take the chance on the guy that has scored goals at every level.
The one goal Marat scored where he blew the doors of everyone with speed and then buried a nice snipe past the goalie was better than 20 goals Brazeau scored where he lumbered his way to the front and someone shot the puck in off his breezer. Why? At what age or how many games is it okay to give up on him? 25 with 250 games? They had 70+ NHL games to look at him. He wasn't anything special as a KHL player either. He shouldn't have been in the NHL at all imo. He was a downgrade for Dewar and Shaw on the 4th line and I didn't want them on the ice either.
He has speed is the only positive thing that said about him. Not "he has a good shot", not "he has good hockey IQ", not "he is a good passer", not "he is physical", not "he is good at FOs", not "he is good in the d-zone", not "he can stick handle in a phone booth," etc.
The only reason is that he was drafted by the Wild and there is some weird emotional tie because of that. If he was drafted by any other team in the league nobody here would even know his name or want him on the team.

This is how we ended up with Brazeau. Someone who just stat watches to inform their opinion, ignoring all context.
That one goal was 50% of his goals. I would've liked better trade, but a trade in a vacuum is fine. The one goal Marat scored where he blew the doors of everyone with speed and then buried a nice snipe past the goalie was better than 20 goals Brazeau scored where he lumbered his way to the front and someone shot the puck in off his breezer.
What context? Marat K added nothing to the team other than a warm body. The adv and regular stats have Brazeau as an improvement over Marat K for their NHL time.
And even if one of those doesn't happen, it's probably better for the team to go find a better center than Khusnutdinov would be anyway.
All of this isn't to defend the actual trade that was made. Brazeau is even more of a nothing.
My real issue is that because Guerin made this trade Brazeau is jammed into the lineup even though he doesn’t even merit a spot in Des Moines. He’s f***ing horrid and we are stuck watching him damage the team. That one goal was 50% of his goals. I would've liked better trade, but a trade in a vacuum is fine.
In Boston, he's playing 3:30 more per game, but still getting SOG's at a similar rate in MN. Difference is 27% shooting.
If Rossi stays, and Eriksson Ek stays, and Yurov is a center, he's not moving up the lineup. And even if one of those doesn't happen, it's probably better for the team to go find a better center than Khusnutdinov would be anyway.

Saying false things just to try and make your argument stronger doesn't do any good. He's actually a very good AHL producer. My real issue is that because Guerin made this trade Brazeau is jammed into the lineup even though he doesn’t even merit a spot in Des Moines. I expect big things from the top line if it stays together, and everybody else chips as they can.I want to be able to see what Rossi can do in the playoffs, but I'm not expecting any offense from him if he's also stuck between Foligno and Nyquist. And I don't think it's fair for anyone to expect any offense from him there either.
Being between Foligno and Nyquist might be an excuse for 2 points in 6 games. It's not an excuse for 0 points in 6 games.
I think the top line could see upwards of 23 minutes per game, and likely against some pretty good offensive players. I'm thinking Ek there to try and mitigate that somewhat is what it is.2 points is all I'm looking for out of him unless the lineup changes.
Still makes way more sense to me to put Rossi with Boldy and Kaprizov, Ek with Foligno, and the rest of them wherever they fit.

Maybe he’s already peaked , he looks substantially worse than Shore or GaunceSaying false things just to try and make your argument stronger doesn't do any good. He's actually a very good AHL producer.
Nyquist needs to have a good series too. He's been pretty bad and that trade was a bad trade too.
