I still don't really believe that they're going to go with a 5 forward power play. That's a thing that can lose a game by itself if it goes bad.

I think Buium plays game 1, and runs the power play. They just need to get him a few practices with the group.
Speak it into existence.

PP1: Kap, Zucc, EK, Mojo (zone entries), Buium

PP2: Boldy, Rossi, Hartman, Nyquist, Faber

Perhaps I’m overestimating the importance of zone entries but I like the idea of having 2 units that present a threat.

Kap is good enough at zone entries. Mojo is kind of useless in the O zone, otherwise, so Boldy goes back in.

Mojo is ok for the PP2. Rossi the odd man out on PP1. I would rather;

Rossi, Mojo, Nyqist/Hartman, Spurgeon, Faber.

Vegas has big and dependable D and bottom 6 Fs. They aren’t loaded with electric scoring talent besides Eichel and maybe Theodore. Not sure how you gameplan for that, but hoping Hynes proves more malleable in his approach than Evason was.

Buium, to me, represents a huge wildcard. There’s no tape on him. He’s versatile and explosive offensively.

I also think the Kap & Zucc connection at 5v5 will be neutralized with Vegas’ tight checking. Let them work their magic on the PP, but don’t like the idea of them playing together 5v5

Kap’s hands are still rusty and Mojo has been shooting well and often, but I agree that he’s a hard sell on PP1. Either way, be nice to get two serviceable units.

Wish Nyquist was playing better, he really has been a disappointing add thus far.

Oh cmon. He’s better than Brazeau and way younger. Still hate that trade.

It doesn’t help that Marat looks amazing because he’s fast, while Brazeau is about as ugly a skater as there in the NHL. But as for actual impact, I’d say the difference is negligible. They both stink.

So I guess Hynes was not lying when he said he needs some practices. I wonder if they just realized they need a boost if they’re going to have a chance in this thing. Offense from the blue line would be a big help. A good powerplay would be a big help.

10pm on a Tuesday is diabolical but the NHL has never cared about central time zone fans.

What statistics back this up?
Did the player comparison on Natural Stat Trick where it splits the stats for multi-team players. The underlying metrics for both, when used on the same team in the same role, point to Brazeau being better than Khusnutdinov at basically everything.

Crazy.
