Other than Dahlin these 3 D-men intrigue me the most as I am not very high on Boqvist. As a Canucks fan I was really high on Dobson and was a bit disappointed that we didn’t select him however after letting it sink in a bit and watching a ton of videos of Hughes I am a lot less disappointed and quite excited for his potential as an offensive D-man.His skating is phenomenal and his ability to disperse the puck is excellent. He should definitely be able to set up Boeser on the pp.

I still like Dobson more though and think he will be a high end top paring 2way D-man while I think Bouchard has the shot and vison to be just as impactful as Hughes and Dobson. I see all 3 as top pairing Defensmen in the NHL.

Anyway, What do you think about these players. If you had to choose one who would you pick? Also who do you think has the highest ceiling? I look forward to your replies:)

All 3 studs. I just hope Dobson is the real deal. The islanders desperately need a legit top pairing Defensman. He likely won’t be that for some time but if he can somehow become that we’d be in terrific shape with the other young talent we have.

I think the safest of the 3 is Bouchard. He’s the closest to NHL ready imo, even though soMe people actually believe Hughes maybe NHL ready as well.

Yeah I know we picked Hughes, and i might sound biased, but heading into the draft, I always thought Hughes was the best defenseman outside of Dahlin. His elite skating ability and puck moving skills are extreme top notch and he's already our best defenseman on our roster, and that's saying a lot. He's arguably the best skater in the draft.

I think you'll see Hughes and Bouchard in the NHL next season. Hughes has the leverage of going to Utica cause he's a collegiate.

Hughes, Bouchard, Boqvist, then Dobson, in that order IMO.

Hughes skating is just magical.

Dobson is gonna be good also

As of right now, Dobson. His tools and toolbox just make him the most reliable pick. Once I see Hughes able to handle himself physically consistently against NHL players (World Cup means nothing to me) I'll be able to slot him ahead.

Hard to pick, of the bunch Dobson probably has the least offensive upside but will most likely be the best 2 way defender of the bunch(ie do you want a guy who will rack up points or somebody you can put on the ice if you are both 1 goal down or one goal up with a minute left)

Dobson was my choice but after watching Hughes videos and reading more about him, he's my pick and I'm glad the Canucks got him. He's going to be exhilarating to watch while he feeds Pettersson who will feed Boeser, hnng. Dobson is the next choice with Boqvist also potentially great. They're all going to be good but Hughes I think is going to be franchise level

Not that I would pick him but why isn't Boqvist in the discussion? I think an argument could be made for him

all 4 of these guys could be the best once they play with men. quinn seems to have the highest upside if his mojo works with pros, but my big fear with quinn is that he will come up against someone like bieksa and start doing his spin moves and this will happen.

I could see Hughes busting so hard.

But his upside is ridiculous with his skating, and hockey IQ and passing.

He's the guy I wanted and when you have those opportunities you swing for the fences.
Hopefully Vancouver doesnt pull and Virtanen and rush him. Love to see him back at michigan this year.

Not much of a contest right now. No surprise. I had Hughes #4 in the draft, second best defenceman behind Dahlin

Not sure 'BUST' is the term, but I can see him topping out as a Thomas Hickey type player. He could also be Ghostbear level. He has the widest range of outcomes of the three IMO.
