I say the same thing about the 3 adds with girls in their panties.

The one with the 2 girls in their underwear then BAM! They’re wearing dresses and walking away with a sexy little strut. Amazing!

Then theirs the girl in a pink dress with a great rack, super hot!

And of course our rubenesque pale lady in her panties looking in a mirror - everyone likes something to hold on to!

All 3 amazing ads. Like don’t make me choose!!!

Fewer games Makar, I could see Hughes get the number first this year though. Makar still doesn’t look 100% the last few games I’ve watched since returning from injury. I could totally see him missing more games.

Makar has played 50 less games. Who will reach it first chronologically and who will reach it faster may not be the same. Hughes needs to maintain this level of play and health and he will be pretty much dead equal with Makar. Cale needs to stop missing games every year, but so far he’s done what Hughes is doing this year for a little longer so he maintains a slight edge for me. They’re pretty similar in terms of offensive impact and defensive strength in my opinion.
There’s also a difference in age. Hughes came in a season earlier than Makar.

Yes to the age difference, but both players came to the NHL in the same season. Makar just came later in the season because his team made it further than Hughes' team in he NCAA playoffs.
indeed, Hughes is younger, Makar was developed further in the NCAA.
Hughes jumped to the NHL as younger d-man what Makar

Hughes, 20
Makar, 21
Both spent 2 years in the NCAA

I know I’m just pointing out that Makar has scored at a higher rate but also came in D+2 vs D+1 for Hughes.

Makar 294
Hughes 291

it would look like that Makar takes the glory for this one.
but, one game can change it all..
It would help if the Canucks got some pp. I think they've got like 3 total in the last 4 games combined. Meanwhile I think the AVS have had 18 pp their last 4 games resulting in 4 pp points for Makar.

Yeah i have noticed that too.

Avs have actually sucked quite some time now (over a month), but still getting points and wins
because of their PP galore. - its the same thing with Leafs, i know that they are on a win streak,
scoring goals and not letting many goals in, but all of their gwg, been PP goals, last game
they scored 3 pp goals, Leafs game didn't improve, what their game was missing was PP's,
all of the sudden they started to get tons of PP again, presto! win streak, it won't last though, the moment the refs stop giving them PP's, their losing streak will start again, its been up and down
season for them, just like Avs season, not sure have anyone noticed, sure Avs have 26 wins this season, but there are lots of question marks for them, smells like a 1st round exit, as does Leafs situation

The Avs look really good when you watch them play and realize the guys they are missing and if they add anyone at the deadline they could go a long way, very explosive team.

Makar gets 1 more point.
so 2 points away from 300 career points.

Makar 298
Hughes 293

Interesting upcoming fixtures though..
I think Quinn still has a chance.

Makar and Avs face Bruins, Flyers, Capitals
where as Hughes and Canucks face Coyotes, Leafs, Blackhawks

But still, Makar's to lose and currently huge favorite to reach 300 first.

Also, interesting fact they showed at last nights game vs Ottawa is Makar has the same Amount of points in exactly the same amount of games as Orr did. No I’m not comparing but it’s pretty cool nonetheless.

Clearly it's somewhat indicative of what a great start Makar has had to his career and he is only in his 5th season and is probably already really close to being a HHOF lock right?

It feels kind of pointless looking at who gets there first in terms of time...Should be looking at the number of games to get there.

Yes, but this poll is nothing but, whom gets it to first.

Orr took off to never before seen heights for a defenseman at his 4th season. Makar has been declining since his 3rd season.

He sure did but the NHL was very different back then and he wouldn't have that type of success in a 2020 NHL the game and dynamic of the league has changed vastly since then.

There is no doubt that Orr would still be a star but to what degree is debatable.

Makar has been declining since his 3rd season.
Funny that he is actually having his best season this year then eh?

I wouldn’t say he’s declining, but I don’t think any Avs fans would say he’s playing better than 2022
