Not necessarily a dive, I just get tired on players purposefully putting their backs to a defending player knowing 99% of the time they will draw a penalty. The onus should also be on the other player for leaving themselves in that position knowingly.

Someone is going to get seriously hurt because they leave themselves purposefully in a vulnerable position.
If the puck is along the boards, players have no choice but to face the boards to retrieve said puck.

Get this shit out of the league. 32 game suspension. That's disgusting. Horrendous. Think of the children.

Sure they do. Norris was keeping his back to Hughes when he easily could’ve had his body parallel with the boards. We see players do this all the time because they know they can’t really be hit like that.

Him and Benson are two of the most dangerous players in the league. They need to be arrested for assault for the body bag count they are picking up.

If that's the case, then to me the call was soft. I only saw the hit and not the aftermath.
They showed Norris after and he had a pimple size spot on his face where he bled a bit. Now depending on how you interpret “injury” drawing a bit of blood could be said, I guess

Blood = injury
Not definitively, it’s a gray area in the NHL. We still see blood drawn from high sticks that only result in a single minor instead of the double

Oh so that's a major, After review?? What a league.

It's funny how the league twists and turns it's reviews and processes/rules leading to stupid unintended outcomes.

Here's my take on the call. The ref(s) called it a major to err on the side of caution, what's the harm, not a big push but the player went into boards hard, call it a major and we and always knock it down but can't do the opposite. That is somewhat common.

Then by their other logic/rules apparently, since there was blood drawn and the original call was major, it can't be knocked down it's auto 5 and a game.

Stupid stuff.

A hit on the numbers near the boards is dangerous, but it wasn't a hard shove. I can see it being a double minor to send a message, but this feels heavy-handed.

The injury makes it automatic, precisely because it’s dangerous. Obviously Norris wasn’t hurt too bad here but it’s an example of how even a light shove from behind near the boards can put a guy off balance and have disastrous consequences. I am 100% on board with harsh penalties for this sort of thing.

The amount of cross checks to the numbers they let go near the boards is wild. Someone is going to break their neck.
