Not necessarily a dive, I just get tired on players purposefully putting their backs to a defending player knowing 99% of the time they will draw a penalty. The onus should also be on the other player for leaving themselves in that position knowingly.I'm not calling a dive, 2 minutes would be fine, he was hit/tapped in the numbers. But considering hits they don't call, that's atrocious. Mind you, I'm watching Toews grab onto sticks, and that's a good hockey play tonight.
Odd as it is, I think they let that go if it were the d-man playing the puck. The league has a goals mandate. Not necessarily a dive, I just get tired on players purposefully putting their backs to a defending player knowing 99% of the time they will draw a penalty. The onus should also be on the other player for leaving themselves in that position knowingly
Came back with about 11/2-2 minutes of the 5 minute leftWas Josh back after this?
What are you talking about? Norris isn't hurt.View attachment 934676
Weak ass player gets injured after getting bodied by one of the smallest players on the ice.
is blood not an injury?Elliote doesn't know the rule. The rule says if a major is assessed and there's an injury, it's an automatic game misconduct.
They could have rescinded the original penalty to a minor.
Exactly, it's like how you get a double minor when drawing blood on a high stick.Worthy of a two minute boarding, but since Norris was cut, it’s an automatic major I believe
OK well then there you have it.Came back with about 11/2-2 minutes of the 5 minute left
Players come back from double minor high sticks all the time.OK well then there you have it.
is blood not an injury?
41.5 Game Misconduct Penalty - When a major penalty is imposed underthis rule for a foul resulting in an injury to the face or head of an opponent, a game misconduct shall be imposed.
The panel on HNIC showed that he got hit right as he was trying to pivot and turn. Watch his skates. Just really bad luck/timing.If that tiny push was enough to make him fall, then he probably should be a bit stronger on his skates. It can't be right that you become completely immune just because you're near the boards.
They can’t rescind that one, if he’s not cut injured they could.Read the rule. They could (should have) reversed it to a minor after review, then the blood/game misconduct thing becomes irrelevant because it's no longer a major penalty.
The penalty should not have held up as a major.
