I am not exaggerating, 5'7 Garland gets hit on the numbers more violently than that 3-4 times a game and not get called.

the nhl wheel of justice should suspend Quinn to because... why not.

I'm not calling a dive, 2 minutes would be fine, he was hit/tapped in the numbers. But considering hits they don't call, that's atrocious. Mind you, I'm watching Toews grab onto sticks, and that's a good hockey play tonight.
Not necessarily a dive, I just get tired on players purposefully putting their backs to a defending player knowing 99% of the time they will draw a penalty. The onus should also be on the other player for leaving themselves in that position knowingly.

Someone is going to get seriously hurt because they leave themselves purposefully in a vulnerable position.

Odd as it is, I think they let that go if it were the d-man playing the puck. The league has a goals mandate.

That’s 2 minutes if the face hits anywhere else but the top of the dasher, and he’s not cut.

If that tiny push was enough to make him fall, then he probably should be a bit stronger on his skates. It can't be right that you become completely immune just because you're near the boards.

is blood not an injury?

Read the rule. They could (should have) reversed it to a minor after review, then the blood/game misconduct thing becomes irrelevant because it's no longer a major penalty.

41.5 Game Misconduct Penalty - When a major penalty is imposed underthis rule for a foul resulting in an injury to the face or head of an opponent, a game misconduct shall be imposed.

The penalty should not have been held up as a major.

The panel on HNIC showed that he got hit right as he was trying to pivot and turn. Watch his skates. Just really bad luck/timing.

They can’t rescind that one, if he’s not cut injured they could.
