Penguins fans will blame Sullivan, but the reality is that guys who score 3 goals in 20 games that don't offer anything in terms of special teams or versatility don't stick in the NHL.
Same exact thing happened to Puustinen as well.

Seemed like he could thrive in a bottom 6/checking role but it appears he never really dedicated himself to cultivating that part of his game. Was communication / English still an issue for him?

He's not. He doesn't remind Sullivan of himself, though, so straight to the press box with him any time he made a mistake.
I’m not convinced he couldn’t kill penalties. For me this is like when DOC got traded—“like the guy, but not a big deal to lose him”.

Played well for the Pens but couldn’t get out of Sullys doghouse. A team would be smart to pick him up. A lot of third lines would be better with him.

Sullivan didn't ruin Puljujarvi, his hips getting destroyed ruined Puljujarvi.
He already cleared waivers once because no one wants him on their NHL team and now he's being terminated to go back to Europe.
