Merkulov won the faceoff that led to that last goal, he has an assist as well on the first goal.

What # is he? Honestly I'm having trouble following the kids I'm not familiar with them at all.

Neither he nor Merkulov has done anything as far as I can tell.

At least Merkulov has gotten in position and has had a couple of chances he didn't convert. I did not know Lysell was playing until the middle of the second when they decided to focus on him as he was sitting on the bench

Tried to beat a guy one on one in the 1st and lost the puck.

I think Merkulov has been a shade better....but its close as to which one has been less visible.

I’m looking forward to Monty’s assessment of guys post game but at this point I think they have a good idea of who the first cuts should be and who has earned another game.

I really like Nelson. Gets involved, got some puck skills, skating is good. Definitely can be a good bottom 6er

Lysell's positioning is why he hasnt made the NHL. Its terrible. You are the winger hanging out in the center zone, you get the puck and throw it up the boards where YOU are supposed to be. I want to like him, he has skills, but hes got to get better with the system

I am finding him very difficult to like.

Its strange because his first camp he looked so sure fire. I was convinced he would be a good player. Just not sure what happened, if its the time off from injuries, but what I have seen in lately, and WJC something is just off.
