Pronman mid season ranking 2025 draft

Yes , he said in the comment page it was bad year for USA and Finland . He had Zero NTDP kids in the top tier for the draft and Hensler wasn’t there is the big shocker I saw . The argument with Schaefer number is more the fact nobody see’s Hangens , Misa as the upside of Schaefer . I love Hagens but he reminds me of Cooley .

Cooley does nothing on the level of Hagens except spin in a circle for a cool goal twice a year.

Schaefer is truly starting to be seen as the consensus number one. Be curious to see if he can maintain that with the injury and all.

It's strange; I'm not opposed to him at #1, but it felt like his rise was almost contemporaneous with his injury, instead of occurring prior. I'm joking somewhat, but I've never seen someone increase their draft stock by running into the net.

It was more so his play in the preseason games + the game against Finland that rose his draft stock at the world juniors. He was rising before this too. He started the year impressing scouts at the Hlinka Gretzky. Then in the 17 OHL games he played, he was very dominant. I'd bet most scouts already had him #1 from his OHL play this year

The main and only reason Schaefer is number one is by default because Hagens or Misa have declined a lot since start of the year and Martone has a zero shot . So that’s how an injured kid like Schaefer got to number one . It actually helped Schaefer having high end limited views . In Addition , the draft falls off a cliff after Schaefer on defense where nobody really stands out as top 15 .

He reminds you of the clear top guy from his draft class that was overtaken by a fast riser who scouts got enamored with because of brief showings at international events?

Interesting take. Misa is leading the CHL in scoring. What more can he really do?

Great question on Misa ? I have only seen him 2x but anybody watches him what’s the negative on him ? The negative is nobody sold on him at number one.

I haven't seen him play all that often but when I have, his decision making is what I think holds him back from that number one spot.

I like Desnoyers and he’s about as much of a lock as a quality NHL player as there comes, but I don’t take him in my top 5.

Not enough top end offensive talent for a top 5pick IMO
I agree with you. Desnoyers may well be a top 5 player in this draft but that is just another indicator to me of how weak this draft is.
