I did. I thought moving him was a mistake when it happened and he's continued to demonstrate to show it was a mistake.

Maybe he matures here, who knows.

Big issue with Miller and the time he was moved was potential cap issues (knew he was up for a new contract soon but his playoff and crunchtime performances were bad) and the fact that he was moved after "the letter" and he straight up gave up on the team after that came out. The performances he put out on the ice after that were just terrible and one of the most blatant "I give up" situations I've ever seen.

I have to think that all fed into the decision to move him, and maybe it's also partly what he needed to wake up a bit.

It was obvious to anyone that Miller was talented and he produced well with the Rangers despite AV's rolling icetime and not quite playing with the most talented players on the team, so I'm not wildly surprised he's doing so well playing with 1st line talented players in Vancouver. Question was always whether he was going to commit to bringing it every day and become the player he could be. Unfortunately with the Rangers he never showed he was ready to do that to the point where a new contract was a no brainer.

Yeah whenever I watched Krav his skating looked good. Not that he's a burner but he always looks smooth. Gauthier has that Kreider burst. I'm a little concerned that Kakko and Laf are very similar in that they are decent but not great skaters, have great hands and playmaking ability. Would like some more variety with our top prospects. Some more speedy snipers, but it seems most teams lack that. Most prospects seem to be the playmaking type, especially the high end centers.

Tough to tell until he's out there against NHL comp but Lafreniere seems to have a better burst than Kakko and is comfortable lugging the puck up the ice in transition whereas that's not Kakko's strong point. For not being an elite speedster, Lafreniere seems to move faster than he looks like his skating would lend itself to.
I also think Kakko, while not having a sniper level shot, could definitely be more of a goal scorer than playmaker if that's what his role is. He may have that kind of "Rick Nash" shot that's not overpowering but tricky and well placed and can score plenty with it

Some people here saying that they want Kravstov to be like freakin Elias Petersson? Insanity

on another note

I did like that Pronmon pointed out Barron's shot particularly as one of his strong points. Might have been our only prospect he gave a top quality shot rating to among all of them (and he might be right, outside of maybe K'Andre)

Well really Lafreniere’s skating was his weakness until last season. He took MONSTER strides. I mean anyone here can go look at his highlights yesr over year and it’s clear it went from being average to a strength
When’s the last time he played? He’s got to have been taking care of himself and working out in all this off time. I imagined he polished some of the edges.

I don’t know if some of us are really ready for how good Laf can be this season

One of the areas where Nils really impressed over the last year was his shot, as well.

Nils has a cannon.

I tend to agree with Pronman that I don’t think miller will put up big points but to me it is VERY clear he is going to be an impact dman. His gaps and first pass are top notch. His size skating and strength are elite. And as he matures he will get better and better defensively. His stop starts for a big man are eye popping. He’s at LEAST going to be a top 4 dman. That’s where my issue is with the write up on him.
Yes. My wish for Miller is to become what Staal was without the injuries. And if I’m being greedy, I hope he has a little more of an aggressive mindset defending in the neutral zone. Essentially I want him to be defensively disruptive to the extreme.

How reliable is Pornman? What are his rankings from several years ago to see how accurately his predictions worked out?

Pronman pointed that out in his blurb.

My admittedly limited viewing impression of Lundkvist's shot is that he's better than someone like Trouba at getting his shot to the edges of the net rather than just hitting the net. That might just come from seeing highlights though...but having a hard shot isn't as important as being able to have some accuracy with it and hit the edges or corners, if you want to be a danger with a slapshot from the top of the circles

Right, but Pronman's whole thing is he doesn't rank the shot unless he thinks it's a difference making tool. He didn't rank Lundkvist's, and I'd argue that his is – in part, as you point out, for its accuracy (though the velocity appears dramatically improved as well).

I think this is right. And while he does have a hard shot--I don't think the velocity is particularly noteworthy. It's the ability to get it through traffic and, as you said, on a dangerous part of the frame.

His is a decent barometer. He's in tune with the major prospects, has reliable sources, and is a pronounced name in the industry. His word isn't gospel when you get into the depth's of each team's prospect pool, but then again who can actually do that for every prospect pool.

Yup. EliteProspects who is really trying to build up their scouting arm, they have like a dozen people working for them filing game reports on prospects and even they only rank the top 125 draft prospects (or something close to that number). To have to rank the top 20 or whatever from 31 systems is an enormous undertaking and no one can watch all those players.

I'm not going to pretend like I've watched him closely but everything I see on YouTube is how he's excellent at preventing zone entries. I think he can grant your wish ;)

Definitely. I think it's a reasonable hope/expectation.

How reliable is Pornman?

Wrong forum sicko...

...and Pronman has his idiosyncrasies but he's a good read. Like most others, he's hit or miss.

Weird that he didn't mention Reunanen but in the comments section someone asked him and he responded: "Can move and shoot the puck but skating is questionable."

...Pornman has a hard-on for skating.

Wait. I heard that he “sucks”. And to be fair, that’s a lot simpler for me to understand than your nuanced take.
And boy do I like it simple!!

Rangers and Vancouver are top 2 in my opinion. There is no way the Devils and Toronto should be higher.
As far as Vancouver goes, I suppose it depends on what you consider a prospect.

Pettersson, Boeser, and Hughes are just their core at this point.
