Cubs emerging as serious suitor for Astros reliever Ryan Pressly in trade talks: Sources

Pressly, who served as Houston's primary closer from 2020-23, will make $14 million in 2025 and has a full no-trade clause.

The Toronto Blue Jays and an unidentified West Coast team are among the clubs that have expressed interest in Pressly, who was demoted last season after Houston signed All-Star closer Josh Hader.

Don’t think he waives. He pretty clearly wants to stay in Houston for family reasons. He’s a free agent after this year so he can ride it out and decide where he wants to go on his terms. Probably signs either the Rangers next year

Going to miss although he was probably leaving next season regardless. Hopefully he has a unreal season so he can cash in next year.
